Booking flights from Paris is easy when you use Orbitz.com. You can look for flights leaving whenever you want, and you can search for flights to almost anywhere in the world. The two major airports that serve the city are Charles de Gaulle Airport and Paris-Orly Airport. Paris-Orly handles a wide variety of domestic and international flights, including those from Air France, British Airways, EasyJet, Syrian Air, Twin Jet, and many more. Charles de Gaulle handles a larger number of flights, particularly international flights. It is approximately 16 miles from Paris, while Paris-Orly Airport is less than 10 miles from the city.
Charles de Gaulle Airport has three terminals, and each terminal has its own parking area. When you drive into the airport, look for signs for P1, P2, or P3. These signs indicate the parking areas, and each sign matches the terminal of the same number. Parking costs around $9 for each hour or $40 for the entire day. Long-term parking is also available for a set price of around $30 per day. Paris-Orly Airport has seven designated parking areas, and you will pay around $30 per day for long-term parking or around $35 per day for short-term parking.
Paris has its own light-rail system, which you can take to either airport if you do not want to drive. The system drops you off near the main entrance to both airports. Charles de Gaulle Airport also has its own shuttle system that takes you to the air ticket counter and around the airport.
Charles de Gaulle Airport has several restaurants where you can get a meal or a cup of coffee while waiting for your flight, including McDonald's, France Cafe Express, and Columbus Cafe. The Destination Cafe, La Brasserie, and Paul offer drinks, snacks, and meals at Paris-Orly. When you use Orbitz.com to find deals and cheap flights from Paris, you might find that one airport is more convenient than the other.
Flying into Oviedo requires a trip to the Asturias Airport, located about 29 miles from the city. Most flights into the airport are domestic, but some international flights to Oviedo are available through connections in London and Paris. The airlines servicing Asturias include EasyJet, Iberia and Vueling, with those services available by reservation through Orbitz.com.
Transportation to the city from the airport after your arrival is best done by intercity bus service due to the distance involved. Bus services are offered through Alsa Coach to Oviedo for about $9 and leave from the airport hourly during most of the day. Taxis can be conveniently found at the taxi rank in front of the terminal for about $0.65 per kilometer during the day or $0.80 per kilometer at night for the 47-km journey to Oviedo.
The weather in Oviedo is a definite draw for visitors, with mildly warm summers that offer relief from the heat of other Spanish cities. The high temperatures during the summer months are rarely above the low 70-degrees Fahrenheit range, though low temperatures during the winters can drop into the low 40s. Dress should be moderately light, with windbreakers or light jackets worn between April and October, and slightly heavier jackets during the winter months. Rainwear is appropriate between October and May, as rain occurs frequently during this period.
Oviedo is a city of churches, containing beautiful examples of Spanish architecture through the centuries that will be appreciated by anyone with an interest in history or architecture. Built in 842 by King Ramiro I, the San Miguel di Lillo is a beautiful Pre-Romanesque building at the Unesco Patrimony of Humanity site. It's a well-preserved example of the period, along with the Santa Maria del Naranco Hall, which was built during the 9th century as part of the city's palace complex. The Cathedral of San Salvador is a bit more modern, built in the 13th century in the city center. It includes several architectural styles, from Pre-Romanesque to Baroque. If sight-seeing isn't enough encouragement to book cheap flights to Oviedo on Orbitz.com, consider the relaxing beaches, such as the Playa de Ballota. As an alternative, the bars in the city are always enjoyable attractions, especially the Baobob in the heart of the city.
