With more than 1.2 million people in residence, Copenhagen is the most populous city in Denmark, as well as its capital. The city is located on the islands of Zealand and Amager, with its airport located on the east coast of Amager. The Copenhagen Airport, located 5 miles to the southeast of the city, provides air services for the city of Copenhagen. There are a number of travel options available to get to the airport for your flight. The M2 Metro line runs from the city's center to the airport in about 15 minutes and costs 35 Danish kroner (approximately $6). The city bus runs from downtown to the airport and costs the same as the train. If you prefer to take the taxi, the cost will be at least 220 kroner ($36), with the trip taking approximately 20 minutes. Parking is available at the airport for those choosing to drive in for the flight, beginning at a cost of 100 kroner ($16) in the budget lot.
Barcelona has a population of more than 1.6 million residents, with about 5 million in total within the metropolitan area. It's one of southwestern Europe's leading economic and cultural centers, attracting millions of tourists each year. When traveling to Barcelona, your airplane will land at the Barcelona El Prat Airport, located about 7 miles from the center of the city. The weather during the winter is cool, with average highs running the range from the upper 70s in September to the upper 50s in January. From March to July, the averages reverse themselves, running from the low 60s in March to the low 80s in July. There's plenty to do in Barcelona after your arrival, with annual celebrations and events occurring throughout the year. In February, the city celebrates Carnival, and in April, there's the Sant Jordi festival to celebrate the city's patron saint. In May, the city rocks to the sound of indie bands during the Primavera Sound festival, and September ends the festival season with the Festes de la Merce, when processions of giant wooden figures occur in the city streets. There's also Barcelona beach to enjoy, as well as the National Museum of Art and the Picasso Museum.
