People fly to Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) for a lot of reasons, but shopping always makes the top five must-do list for visitors.
Nicknamed The Gateway to Mexico , Tijuana is the largest city in Baja California andmillions of people travel there every year to experience the shopping, the nightlife and the local culture.
If you love shopping, there are so many street vendors, open-air markets and flea markets that it s possible to shop for days.
There are also high end retailers and specialty shops to be found amongst the local markets. For a great shopping experience, visitors can peruse Avenida Revolucion for an amalgam of retail and speciality stores mixed with street vendors and restaurants.
Tijuana is famous for lots of attractions, but the characteristic that carries its reputation across the world is its cuisine. The abundance of high quality, fresh ingredients found locally enables chefs to amazing range in their creativity.
There are some five star restaurants that will amaze you but even the street vendor fare is a delight.
