Fly to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport

In the north-central section of Arizona, you'll find a city whose nearby natural attractions draw millions of people each year. Flagstaff itself is nestled in between sloping mountain ranges, and, from the airport, you're only about five miles from downtown.

Perhaps the most obvious attraction near Flagstaff is Grand Canyon National Park, located about 75 miles north of the city. But, there are other closer and equally majestic options, including the Walnut Canyon National Monument and the Sunset Crater; a cinder cone crater located about 15 miles north of Flagstaff.

Once you're done exploring the Arizona wilderness, you can relax at Northern Arizona Museum, or stroll down Flagstaff's historic downtown and railroad district.

Getting around

If you fly to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG), you'll be able to take in the natural beauty of the Coconino National Forest, and the majestic Humphreys Peak which is the tallest point in Arizona. Although Flagstaff does offer a taxi service, it may be more advantageous to opt for a rental car. This gives you the freedom to go wherever you want while visiting the city.

Hints and tips

For good eats, you won't be disappointed by Diablo Burger or the Cottage Place Restaurant, both of which are located near the Flagstaff Amtrak Station in downtown.
