We have stayed at The Four Sails every time we have visited Va. Beach and that's been on and off for 30 years now.
We love the location and every room is ocean front. The property has made improvements in that time, but it still has a long way to go.
The staff has always been courteous. The couch was comfy to sit on. There's the positives in my review.
The replacement flooring that replaced the carpet the room once had already shows it's age and needs replacing. Chips, scratches and buckling. The carpet in the rest of the room needs replacing. It's old and shows it's age.
Two of the three faucets constantly leaked. This was brought the the attention of the front desk upon checkout where they immediately informed maintenance.
All the metal blinds have rust and our bedroom sliding door would not lock. The tub had sand in it from the previous occupant and all mirrors needed a good cleaning. Our slider in the bedroom needed the glass cleaned also. Corners of the room needed a good cleaning.
There's always a bunch of materials sitting in a spot not far from the main entrance in the garage. Which you don't have to pay to park in by the way. You couldn't get a car in there, but it's unsightly and usually has leaves and dirt in it and can be a hazard trying to walk around.
They don't enforce the handicap parking. They have it, but it seems anyone can park there.
Over all the room looked tired and that's a shame. It has my wife wanting to try somewhere else next time.
