The room was clean. We liked the laminate (vs carpeting) floors. Missed having a microwave and coffeemaker, but there was coffee in the morning in the lobby and a microwave available 24 hours. Some of the other guests seemed unsavory. We were slightly worried about our car in the parking lot. Everything was fine - we were just being paranoid.

Bed pillows were so uncomfortable. Like they were just lumpy old pillows. The bed comforter was basically a sheet. The main door and bathroom door were put on improperly. Very disappointed.

Shady people hanging around lots of hookers dressed to get your attention. A McDonald's next door and a 7 Eleven across the streets. Near the 101 very convenient for travelings .

Not recommended for solo female travelers

This motel is suitable for a short stay if you need a place to sleep for the night. However, the atmosphere isn’t hospitable or safe, especially for solo female travelers. The clientele is largely construction workers passing through town and long-term misplaced people, meaning that vagrancy and partying are prevalent after dark. I was approached by unseemly occupants on 3 occasions, especially after dark. Be warned that rooms far from the front office don’t receive any WiFi signal. They offered me a discount for the lack of WiFi. I had to be persistent with the front office in order to be moved to a room with WiFi signal. The rooms are surprisingly spacious and nice, but the floors aren’t mopped regularly. You will need to independently find almost $8 in quarters in order to do one load of on-site laundry.

I liked the location of the Motel. Its like 3 city blocks to the ocean which was very nice. A gas staion was like a block away and a McDonald's was next door. And the price was affordable. So that goes to say you get what u pay for. The outside grounds were very well kept. The pool was really nice. The staff was also nice and they had security walking the property. The shower and bathroom was gross. Saw only one roach. But we were only there to sleep and shower. The beeds were clean and we all slept well except for the noise but i always except that when staying in a tourist town. I would probably go ahead a spend a little more somewhere else next time.

I was so nervous about my stay in California, mostly worried about safety/location/busy-ness of things. I was SO pleasantly surprised!! Ventura was not the busy/crazy I thought it would be. The location and hotel were great! Literal 10 min walk to the beach, they kept the property very clean, actively outside cleaning up the parking lot, pool area. Inside they were touching up paint, sweeping. You would never guess it was a packed hotel, it was quiet (I was on the side facing an open field, not so sure about the side that McDonald’s is on though). The room did have an interesting smell. Not bad.. and the room was very clean, just interesting.. Also, it was not the temperature I expected it to be and I only packed dresses. The front desk guy was like oh there is a thrift store downtown if you want to grab something. GENIUS!! 5 min drive, we had so much fun and I found a perfect light cardigan for the remainder of my trip! Very good experience!!!

Sketchy hotel. Super dirty. Used Tissues in bathroom on ground that weren’t cleaned up. The floors were nasty and I was surrounded by tweakers in other rooms.
