Buyer beware!

The view from this hotel is beautiful. But that is where anything good ends. The rooms need serious updates. They had no elevator to take your luggage to other floors. The lights in the room didn’t work. The bathrooms were old and unappealing. The smell was very musty. Our stay was for two nights, on the first day before even unpacking. We asked if we could have a refund, as we wanted to move onto a different hotel. They would offer no refund. So we stayed one night, and left the next day. We did not stay the second night, and got no refund.

Excellent staff! Fantastic views! I had the filet mignon ,which was excellent. Complementary breakfast was good. Only negative is the room needs remodeling. Great stay, I would stay there again.

Our room was on the 3 rd floor ! We had to carry our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs on wet steps. We booked last year because of the restaurant and free breakfast even though we knew the hotel was very dated. The restaurant was good but the breakfast was a disappointment.

First night sucked. This inn is really old and rickety. The bed was awful, the decor is about 40 years dated, our toilet sprayed water every time you flushed, and the shower was awkward. Felt like showering in an old RV. Beautiful ocean view from the room was barely existent because there's no balcony, just a walkway outside of the window. 2nd night we were upgraded to the presidential suite or whatever they call it. It had 2 bedrooms, which was nice but we only needed one. It was a great view through the giant window directly over the ocean, so it was a world of difference. The dinner at the in house restaurant was amazing. However, the breakfast was not. No coffee maker in the room, and what I think was cheap Folgers wasn't available until after 8. As an early riser, I had to drive all the way down the coast almost to Ventura, turn around and find a Starbucks in carpenteria. Round trip took about 40 minutes for a decent cup of joe. The staff was very friendly, but due to the above issues I don't think we'd stay there again.

I Can't express how wonderful the staff are!!! Jonathan help my wife with some stuff to bring up from the restaurant because i am handicapped... the hotel and the rooms are very clean!!! This was our first time here and plan on coming many more times!! We are from Hawaii and this place was beautiful!! The weather worked out perfectly... Mahalo for everything

The view is incredible! The place has amazing potential, but we had a clogged shower, shower head was barely spraying, heater was loud and banging throughout the night, the pillows and sheets smelled like mildew. We chose it based on having complimentary breakfast, but breakfast was only breads, the coffee only had half and half creamer in a carton that everyone used. We also chose with option of having on-site restaurant, but restaurant was closed first night due to repairs (would have been nice to know that). No coffee in room. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The clock on the nightstand was rusty. That seems insignificant, but it shows how just changing some small things and updating the place would change public opinion. There’s a full restaurant, why not have a “normal” breakfast buffet like most motels that offer complimentary breakfast? It’s a shame that management/corp is letting this place fall apart.

Terrible Showers and Beds!

Great views, obviously. Staff is great, very personable. Here's the bad stuff. Beds are TERRIBLE! Spent the first night in what had to be a rehab room. Bed was broken. Caused me a ton of pain, I have many back issues. Pictures on the wall broken, just a crap room. Shower was broken barely drizzled out water. VERY SMALL SHOWER. Telephone did not work lol. No AC outlets. Asked for an ironing board. They dont have one. They have an old table top broken dirty thing. Back hurting I had to drive, 40 mins round trip to buy an ironing biard at Walmart. Next morning saw 3 different rooms hoping for a better bed and shower. No offer by staff for an upgrade. In extreme pain. I chose another room. Slightly better bed. The showers at this place are smaller than what you would find in a motor home. Vry nice staff, but despite my terrible first night no offer of a discount, upgrade, free room...nothing. Dont stay here. Much more comfortable options down the highway. Management here is crap.

LOCATION IS AWESOME!

This location was beautiful! SOOOOO charming and the room was sweet. Great trail walks ! My concern was that hotels.com advertised it as a warm pool heated and was really excited to swim overlooking ocean. Establishment said ,"they don't heat pool til end of March. No snacks anywhere but a beautiful restaurant, Breakfast with no staff around noone really welcomed us to property , restaurant staff friendly.

Nice stay.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They gave us good advice on what to see and do in the area. The view from the hotel and the field of the hotel were wonderful. The room had a cute beach theme.

The views are fantastic. Old school hotel but that’s what I like about it. No electric plugs on the night stands but when it was built there was no need for them. If you are expecting modern this is not the place for you but if you want to destress and watch the waves and bliss out I highly suggest this place.
