We were really happy with our stay at Lake Taupo Motor Inn. The location was perfect, easy walking distance to the lake and main shops. The room was spotless and comfortable.

The property itself was clean and tidy, staff were friendly. Room was serviced which was really nice to have clean towels and coffee tea etc topped up. Some of the other guests were loud but that can't be helped I guess.

Disappointing service

"Great" surprise upon arrival on a chilly winter evening - no hot water. After calling the reception on our mobile the night manager seemed very surprised and promised to take action. No call back, no feedback, no apologies at checkout in the morning. The hot water eventually came back in the morning but we definitely won't be back.

Good lay out for families, we were very glad to have electric blankets on beds. Just what we needed for our short stay and well priced. The bathroom needs attention the shower door kept catching on bottom and shower pressure then caused shower head to fall on floor, it was very hard to get it in the right position when I showered and we had to end up holding shower head so youngest could shower. We were well accommodated for when I let staff know we wouldn’t make staffed check in hours my only gripe would be it was cold and it would have been nice if heat pump had been turned on, but not I complaint just me being a little picky
