The treehouse

Great views, nice and quiet location. Driveway is VERY steep. Could have some better pantry staples eg oil, spreads for toast. Outdoor bath was awesome.

Fabulous weekend stay

This is a great property - very comfortable and well equipped with stunning views of the lake and Taupo. We made great use of the fireplace on a cold weekend but would also love to return in summer.

Amazing views with total comfort

This home was perfectly situated by lake and only minutes from main town of Taupo. The views were amazing as seen in photos. The driveway is steep but could park on quiet street at its base. The outside hot tub was beautiful and surroundings were quiet and serene. A short 3 minute walk gets you to the lake for swim access. Cooked dinner most nights to eat in front of amazing views of Lake Taupo. Loved our stay. Cannot wait to stay here again.

Awesome view but dated.

This property is definitely special, with an amazing view! The kayaks were easy to use and the pizza oven works as good as it looks. The included binoculars made birds easy to spot. I would have given the property 5 stars except for a few issues which could be corrected to make this property truly amazing. The driveway was a definite issue but we were warned! The spa does take a while to warm so don't expect to use it on the first night (it is amazing once warmed!). 1) Main toilet is outdated and the plastic on it smells awful. 2) Included toiletries were minimal 3) Just enough wood included to use the pizza oven once 4) Paths and yard just needed a little trimming seemed a bit wild. None of these issues would keep us from visiting again the pros definitely outweighed the cons. But seriously please replace that toilet.

Super superb

Lovely relaxing home in a quiet bay with fab views. Very comfy living space and well provisioned with outdoor area and other household utilities. Suggest that this wouldn’t be so suitable for elderly or disabled guests as there’s a lot of stairs (house is on 3 levels). We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Fir comfort, cleanliness and proximity to Taupo town and other activities.

Beautiful views / Great accomodation

Acacia Bay is a wonderful vacation property conveniently located a short walk from the park and kayak rentals and is only a few minutes drive from downtown Taupo. The home is well designed, high quality and very well equiped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The views are fantastic, the outdoor amenities are nice and add to the experience. The driveway is steep and takes a bit to get used to, but it is worth it to have the views. Taupo is a wonderful place to visit with many great hikes and water activities.

Interesting Home

Everything we needed for an enjoyable getaway, very handy for swimming in the lake. Make sure you know how to back a car down the driveway though.

Views Galore

Such and amazing house with stunning views, immaculately presented and well appointed, I wish we had stayed longer to soak up Acacia Bay even more. A few minors, the main beds are quite firm, some optional toppers would be great. No tea towels provided which was a niggle. Would happily book again.

We loved the home and the views.

With it being winter the steep driveway was a bit of a challenge. Also it would have been nice to have sufficient wood available for all 3 days we stayed rather than just a few starter logs...we had to go and get more on the first night. Loved the views and the beds were sooo comfortable. We will be back😊

Taupo stay

The driveway was an issue. Needed cleaning very slippery and could not use. Also no exterior lighting. Car slid out trying to back down, had to leave car at our family’s Bach and walk to and from. Also cousin slipped on drive and cut his arm. Advertised with 2 bathrooms- 2nd bathroom not up to standard and sign up saying don’t use shower! House was clean and well presented. As it turned out 2 guests couldn’t come due to Covid, so bathroom was not an issue, but would have been as house was selected because it stated to bathrooms.

We will be back!

This place is a must stay, amazing views and tranquil location. If you admire design, detail and craftsmanship, do yourself a favour and enjoy Wai Marino for a couple of nights (at least). It helps to have a 4wd / AWD vehicle to make it up the driveway steep and can also be slippery. Couldn't find a cork screw for our wine... Luckily someone in our group had a McGiver trick up their sleeve.
