Property was very clean and chic. Rooms were clean and new, with comfortable furnishings. One minor issue was the toilet was installed close to the wall and we kept hitting the toilet paper holder with our legs. The hotel breakfast is very good. Although the hotel is not in the center of CBD, it is very walkable and within close proximity to trains and public transport.

Loved the closeness of the Vibe Sydney to the Capital Theatre for our one night in the city for a show experience. The convenience of the carpark at cheap city rates across the road was perfect for our two country travellers. Bed comfortable, shower great pressure, you just need to like a loud A/C in the room when on. Having the restaurant for dinner and breakfast off the lobby assisted us with a quick turn around of our time. Great stay. Would return.

Good breakfast. Didn’t like i had to check in again when i had made two back to back bookings with Expedia as i missed booking the last night on my first booking I told them in an email and told them when i checked in but i came back hot and tired one day and had to wait in a line to get a new key and sign again. And the flush on the toilet was hard for older hands to keep pushing it until it fully flushed.

What was once a great value for money option has now turned into nothing but a budget hotel with fancy badging. I am a regular traveller to Sydney and have for many years chosen this hotel, however over my last 3 stays over the last 4 months the quality of this hotel has dwindled. This has included but is not limited to: - items being stolen from our room. - having to go back to reception because the room I was given had the incorrect beds - requests for a king bed to be split being unfulfilled. - a flooding bathroom - excess noise/pipes - room keys no longer working, and having to go back to reception to get them reprogrammed several times - poor customer service at check in and being spoken to in a demeaning manner. Many of these issues have fallen on the deaf ears of receptionists, some of whom walk around and treat guests with little care or respect to their job. I once recommended this hotel, however its quality of both product and service has continued to decline, meaning I can no longer recommend it.

Great Location, but…

The Vibe hotel is in an amazing part of the city - so you definitely pay for the location. I preface this with the belief that the rooms are cleaned well. But, they are a bit dim and lack updating so it feels unclean. The window panes have giant, black cobwebs between them, the paint is chipped and cracked in the bathroom, and the carpet is questionable - again, likely clean but doesn’t necessarily appear so. The rooms are very small. The beds are generally good. However, my side had this large bowled out portion on the side - visible - which made sleeping very uncomfortable. I told the front desk when we left (as there was another bed that I switched to half way through our stay). I am not sure how it would go unreported, and if it was reported (it could not be missed-truly), why it was ignored at my expense. That’s the kind of care that I think is overlooked at this hotel. I would likely pay more for another Hotel on our next trip but this one worked. We didn’t spend much time in the room over our four days and appreciated the proximity of the metro, town square, darling harbour, etc…

The location was convenient enough. Not a terrible walk to darling harbor and only two train stops to Sydney harbor. The bathroom was a strange layout with mismatched tiles and the shower is not tall guy certified, but it worked for us. The staff was nice and helpful. Not that they’re obligated to but they were the only hotel (out of four on this trip) that didn’t give us the ability to check in early which would have been nice as tired international travelers. They did store our luggage though

Pros: Hotel is well located and close to most attractions. Reception staff was friendly and professional (Camila at reception was amazing). Cons: Room state is sub-par, carpet was stained, almost no hot water pressure, no luggage rack, housekeeping did not happen every day. Buffet breakfast is not worth it as there is limited food variety and on our last day we noticed that bread and pastries were handled by hand by the attendant when put on the trays. We are silver members and did not receive our complimentary wine bottle. Overall, the location and service at reception makes it a good option, but attention to detail in housekeeping and amenities could be improved
