Property location is great, and the property itself is quite nice. The dock that runs through the mangrove tunnel is beautiful, offers great fishing, and you get some great sunrises and sunsets. Not really a great spot to swim or snorkel, but if you have kayaks or similar, there’s a decent spot to launch them. Plenty of frogs and lizards, including iguanas, are present around the property if you’re into that. The house itself is good. Being on stilts, you get a beautiful view of the Atlantic side of Cudjoe Key. It’s far enough off the highway that it’s super quiet. Everything was clean when we arrived. There are some quality of life improvements that are easy and cheap for the property owners to make, but didn’t, which kind of left a bad taste in our mouth, particularly for the nightly rate. Nearly all of the faucets are loose in the sinks, especially the kitchen faucet. The air fryer/toaster combo in the kitchen doesn’t close all the way, so you have to find something to prop up against the door if you want to actually cook something. These are minor things, but like I said, they’re cheap and easy to replace, and for over 500/night all-in, I’d expect them to be non-issues. The sliding doors also lock, but there’s a constant gap, which is annoying when you can’t set the AC below 75 degrees. Overall, the house is in a great spot, it was clean, and the beds were decently comfy. It’s not a luxury stay, or super high-end, but makes a great home base for exploring the Keys.
