Staff at the Publick House were all very kind and helpful- they made us feel so welcome. The rooms were great- we loved staying in a place with such great history, and also very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying at the inn and will be back again.

I had a wonderful stay at the inn. The inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There was a wonderful festive air. I appreciated being too able to travel with my dog, who enjoyed the inn as much as I did. I definitely plan to come back again. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, especially manager. Michelle. highly recommend this and to all those seeking a wonderful festive experience

We loved how private our room was. We were in the second to last building up on the hill and it was so quiet and our balcony looked out into the woods. The whole property is very picturesque, although our room was a little dated and had a large air gap in the front door (which made the front vestibule very cold when the night temp dipped to 7°!)

I personally love the Publick house! This was my first staying in the motor coach area! Room was better than expected ! We took the king room ( complaint ( it’s directly next to maintance room ! The following morning Saturday about 7:00 am smashing of doors and stuff hitting the wall this went on all day! Wasn’t happy about that house keeping needs to keep in mind there are people sleeping ! Second issue was with front desk manager the girl with the glasses! She was snippy and quick to point out factors of using a third party booking site! That they wanted to charge me an extra 46.00 to my card to cover room service and other things if you spend it I get it back in about a week? Weird policy! I explained there wasn’t enough on my card to do so , I offered to hand her a 100.00 bill ( quickly exclaimed they don’t take cash) lol I said oh it didn’t state that when making reservation that’s when she said I used a third party site to book and they can’t control what you know or don’t know do to booking through site ! I said oh so we need to cancel our two day reservation? She said I’ll let it go this time for next time please beware ! Which I’m fine with ! Update your hotels info on these sites ! She has always been a serious and quick to snip back hostess they also had two weddings that weekend I’m assuming stress of all that didn’t help ! I will 100 percent Stay with them again I love it there

Very affordable overnight stay during Thanksgiving. We stayed in a pet friendly double room in the Motor Lodge which is different than the Inn. The building is set on a very pretty hillside a little away from the main Inn and restaurant. The room had a solid colonial American decor vibe that we all loved and it felt so comfortable - the chairs, beds and decor. The ceiling was pitched with beams that made the room feel very spacious, While it’s true this style of decor is now dated when compared to the new modern hotels, we enjoyed it. Even though it is used as a pet friendly room there were no leftover smells or spots from previous four legged visitors. Lots of clean towels and pleasant toiletries, along with a microwave oven/fridge, a balcony, table and chairs for eating at, along with two other comfy chairs, lots of bed pillows, a great wall heating unit (we needed because it got cold outside) - just lots of extras that made our stay more comfortable and that you don’t always get in motels at this affordable price. Highly recommend and would stay again.

The room was very clean. A little dated. One of the chairs was broken at the table in the room. The arm was coming off and the chair was wobbly. There was no shampoo or conditioner. The restaurant was very good and nice that they give a discount for being a guest.

The room was clean but had a bit of an old musty smell. The motel part of the inn where we stayed was dated and could use a face lift. The complimentary pastry and coffee from the Bake Shop was fabulous.

The staff were great, but our room was rough, lower level of Chamberlain house. Room was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable but the heat didn’t work and the bathroom had a strong sewage odor in the morning. Avoid room 501. We got in late and only stayed one night so we didn’t move our room as we were exhausted from traveling.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was just one night but it felt very comfortable in our room, and we had dinner at the restaurant that is on site which was delicious! Staff were welcoming and helpful, and it was fun to learn about all of the history. We would definitely return if we head to Boston again, thank you!
