Lots of charm and some inconvenience for an old, old buiding: far from convention halls, chaos in the neighborhood, dreary room, no ramps for suitcases, hot water that would fry me for a few seconds in the shower, no fitness place. Taxis were difficult to find. The people are good; the tavern was nice and convenient with lots of character. The temp in the room worked and could adjust to the need and bedding.

The hotel has a lot of charm! I loved the architect and just the feel of the place! There are a lot of artifacts there that are interesting. It was close to so much and we walked to most attractions every day. The front desk personnel were not all that friendly, there was one I wondered if she even knew how to smile and I was there for 7 days - never saw her smile once! The Crockett Tavern was excellent however, the service tended to be on the slow side. There was one server we had - we each ordered a drink and something small to eat, we got our drinks and my friend got her food but after an hour, I asked them to give me mine to go. However, we had servers that were good as well. The breakfast, I would not even recommend it at all! You could go to a grocery store, get those prepackaged sandwiches and warm in the microwave in your room every day for a week for the cost of 1 of the same things in the breakfast cafe. The coffee was OK, but nothing to get excited about. The valet staff were AWESOME! My first time having to valet park the car however, these guys made it fun and great.
All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative is the nightly charge for valet parking. When we arrived we asked the gentleman working outside at valet where we could park, he said he would park our car and its no extra fee to us. Well, we found out the next day its $42 per night for valet and its the ONLY parking option at the hotel. Otherwise the place was clean, comfortable and located conveniently to alot of amazing attractions.
Alamo canons will wake you up in the morning, coffee shop and tavern employees are rude, and the hotel will try to rack up charges on your room card. You're better off staying at a national hotel chain, not here
Very much liked my 3 night stay at this hotel which is located right behind the Alamo. Nice staff, bar, and food. However, when I took my first shower the bathtub plumbing backed up. Also, the office chair had a defective spring which was uncofortable. I informed staff and they fixed the drainage and replaced the chair with a brand new one immediately. One last item was the parking fee. At close to $40 per day that was in my experience way too high for a valued guest.
Great location to riverwalk and shopping.
First time staying at the Crockett. But we will be returning. Nice rooms convenient location and very good price.
If your looking for a historical building with list of rich history this is the place. We love staying here.
