A budget option in an emergency situation where prices in town went through the roof and basically just wanted a bed for a few hours - this place was brilliant and exceeded my not high expectations - brilliant budget option.

The staff were really friendly. Area is great, just 9 mins walk to Rotterdam Centraal. Tram station is near 1 min maybe. Rooms are clean, but u cant expect luxus. Its a hostel and very cheap. But gud for the price. Only negative there are so many people, if they are drunk its loud outside ur room. Otherwise it was gud.

Fine, basic, but not very clean

Staff were friendly, guests were respectful and the room was relatively comfortable, although hot, however... Check-in took ages, there were no lockers, the floor was covered in dust, there was a pair of dirty socks in my bed so I'm not sure it even got cleaned between the previous person leaving and me arriving as they give you bedding to make your own, the bathroom was not clean, and the pillow was virtually non existent. It's cheap and close to the station but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're part of a group that has the whole room to yourselves and stay more than a night so you can schedule a room clean.

Very dirty room

Room were not clean, there was sand on the 3 beds. Floor in the bedroom was full of all sorts of stuff and bedsheets had stains of unknown origin on them. Aircon didn't work and no one came to have a look at it once it was reported at the reception

Near Rotterdam Centraal, you can walk and tram everywhere. There was no AC and no air circulation what so ever. The windows barely open. It was 30 degrees celcius in the room. Otherwise, the bedding and pillows were good for a hostel.

Horrible, will never return to that place again and surely not under the actual management. Two years ago we stayed in that same property and it was very nice, clean and save. Under this new management it is horrible, we do NOT recommend staying at that place.

What I did not like about my stay at A&O Rotterdam City was that the lock for the bathroom has a gap meaning anyone could be watched whilst showering and/or using the toilet. This is a breach of privacy. Secondly, I feel the room could've been kept better care of, it attracted bugs and I have received multiple bites because of it. Something extra I want to add is that the elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floors, inside the elevator sometimes the button can take a few presses to flash and take someone to the floor number they chose. This can cause some anxiety especially since the same applies to the button that opens the doors too. This hostel is very convenient, but I feel it does need to improve. I would probably come again if I visit Rotterdam again but things do need to change.

Really scruffy place. Stayed in A&O hostels before in Germany and we're pretty good. Noisy road outside room had to use ear plugs. My rule is I ask myself the question would I stay here again the answer is no.
