We stayed at the Porto Allegro in May of 2025 and found the overall stay very good. We booked a suite but I would not have classified it as a suite. Room was somewhat smaller then we are used to when traveling. But that was just fine as the room was very clean and the staff were amazing. We also spent very little time in the room as we were out enjoying everything that was within walking distance. The breakfast that came with the room was very good as you ordered it from a menu. It was hot, tasty and the coffee was very good. It was as good as homemade and way better then a buffet breakfast. The ladies were very friendly and made you feel like you were home. Will definitely stay here again. Victor at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

A great place to stay.

Always a pleasure to stay here. Great service. The rooms are nice. Very helpful staff at getting taxis, local information on the area rooms are clean. They're air-conditioned great rates. Small gym with a elliptical and a exercise bike and weights. We had a corner room with a small balcony from our room when you looked out you could look down towards the main cathedral and square

Great value, great location

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was a nice size, the bed was pretty comfortable, it had great AC and a very good shower. More importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was outstanding! High marks, overall!!

I highly recommend this hotel.

Awesome staff! Make sure to get a room facing the street and not the building next door, otherwise it’s a really depressing stay. But the rooms facing the street or with a balcony are gorgeous! You’re right in the middle of the city, right next to everything.

Great little place just a few blocks from the Malecon. Breakfast (included) was made to order and good. Shower was nice. Air conditioning worked well. Front desk staff and bellmen were friendly and helpful. Excellent vale for the price.

For those who want a smaller hotel without a bunch of partying, this is a nice place to stay. THE GOOD: Staff were great. I mean REALLY nice and always made sure we were comfortable ad happy. We had the included breakfast every day and every time it was very good. It’s a smaller hotel, so not a lot of people (if that’s what you’re trying to stay away from). The location made it a short walk to the Malecon, the Markets, Old Town and the Romantic zone. Very easy to get a Taxi or Uber. The air conditioner worked very well and was NOT noisy. THE BAD: It is an older building, so you CAN hear sounds from the street in some rooms, but we actually enjoyed that (vs. thumping disco music around the pool at many resorts.) It didn’t stop us from having a decent sleep. THE UGLY: I try and include All aspects in my reviews, including anything that really bothered us. In this case, there was nothing that stood out. Just note, this is an older building - however the plumbing etc. is up to date.

We stayed in this hotel for our first visit to Puerto Vallarta and it was a great choice. The staff of the hotel was extremely friendly and nice. My 4yo knew them by name (¡Hola, Victor!). Their breakfast on the rooftop was very simple but nice. I would only recommend to improve coffee quality. The location is really good for walking around the neighborhood. Close to the river, the boardwalk and the beach. We would definitely choose it again.
