The rooms a/c heating system does not work properly. Paying over $300.00 for a room that only gets cleaned every three days, and does not inform you that you will be waken up continuously during the night with the train whistle and your bed shaking every hour.

We love the 1 bedroom suite which is a really large room! For us the price and size of the room beats the other hotel near Carleton. However, the train noise with the windows open at night was really loud. Once asleep it didn't bother my daughter or I, but it did disturb my husband. The sofa bed is unsleepable and we bring an inflatable bed. All in all though this is our choice when coming to Northfield.

The pool was freezing cold and they don’t have a hot tub any more and the staff was rude if you asked to turn the pools heat up

We were in town at the beginning of Jesse James Days which was a very easy walk. The carnival rides were literally across the street from our room but we did not hear them. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we had an ussue with one of the washers. Its our new go to hotel when we are in town!

When we arrived in our room, it had not been cleaned after previous guest. Dirty towel on the pillow, one in bathroom. Toilet was not cleaned. Trash scattered around room. The woman at front desk moved us to a clean room. This was our second stay at this hotel, first time with this experience. We like it's close to Carleton College. But, it's not very quiet. The train tracks are close by. There are several restaurants in walkable distance.

Unfortunately we could still smell smoke in the room. It is an old hotel with not many upgrades. Breakfast options were fine. Great front desk upon check-in but didn’t see another employee while we were there.
