Becareful there is an additional HKD$150 membership after booking the accoms. This is a yearly membership and entitled to 2 other guest when checking in. Booked this hostel for my sunrise hike to Lantau Peak. The room is surprisingly cleaner than i expected. Even the public toilet too.

They Overbooked

I was not actually able to stay at this location. I had my reservation, but a few hours before my arrival, I got a note through hotels.com that they are unable to accommodate me because they overbooked. They offered for me sleep in a tent on their location. I thought that was strange, but upon asking for a refund, I was never contacted again.

Hostel en la Isla Lantau, HK, ideal para senderear

El hostel es realmente bueno, está muy cerca del Gran Buda en la isla Lantau de HK, en medio de una reserva natural que tiene muchos senderos por recorrer. La vegetación y la fauna del lugar es extraordinaria. Las instalaciones son muy buenas, sábanas y baños limpios, aire acondicionado, cocina equipada. Tienes casas de campañas en el patio como habitaciones. Puedes tomarte un café y escuchar la lluvia caer. El staff bastante amable y servicial.

I booked a bit late in the evening so when I arrived, I have to wait outside the locked gate for more than an hour, in the dark and rainy evening, but was glad that the personnel there heard me or else I might've slept outside.The personnel was good, the facilities were a bit good too, but the area was wow. It's a good place to be close to nature.

這次是第一次入住YHA昂坪戴維斯，雙人房空間稍為細了些少，其餘浴室、廁所、廚房及飯廳尚算整潔，廚具齊全，有冷熱水機，四週環境吾錯；唯一缺點是要付款做會員(忘記了是$100折抑或是$150)，而期限只是一年！

This hostel has not reached to the average YHA level for facility maintenance and cleanliness. Dirty kitchen, long-term food left in the refrigerator, broken laundry machine, shower that hot water does not come out enough. Should maintain well.

Bad experience

We reached the property late due to visa formalities but they don’t allow check in although we spent taxi charges more than the hotel charge , moreover it was showing that it is only 7 km from airport but in fact it was 30 km away. Very inconvenient

Happy stay

We had 3 days to spend in HK - this was the perfect place to stay to see Tai O village and Big Buddha without too much travel time. We stayed in a double room which was comfortable enough, the bathroom was not exactly clean but that isn't really why you'd stay here, and we made do for 1 night. The location is fantastic and the staff are very friendly, bare in mind that there are no shops nearby after 6pm so only basic provisions are available from the reception (instant noodles, soft drinks).

The hostel is about a 10 minute walk from any other buildings, which means it’s in a quiet location but a bit inconvenient if you want to grab something quick to eat, and maybe not the best place for women to be walking to and from after dark if alone. The rooms were clean enough but there were a few bugs, but that’s to be expected as it’s in a sub tropical environment. The toilets and showers were fairly disgusting, the toilet paper was always wet and guests couldn’t seem to not foul the seats. It’s fine for a quick overnight stay but I wouldn’t stay for more than one night.

在昂坪上住一晚蠻舒服的，還能避開人潮，隔天一早去山上走走，風景非常美麗！ 這次住的是雙人房，床是King Size，空間也還蠻舒服，就是隔音真的蠻差的。 看到房間內有冷氣、風扇和Heater，也算是挺齊全的~ 要上樓的樓梯間擺了一個大梯子，很危險，拿著行李也很難經過，希望能快點改善這點。 建議在東涌買一些食物，晚上BBQ或隔天當早餐！ 跟爸媽坐在廊上聊天看風景，戶外大木桌吃著早餐 真的很舒服~ 覺得下次可以多住幾天！

In the midst of nature

We kept in mind that this was a hostel so we didn't have very high expectations. That being said, though, we wish the rooms and facilities are cleaner, given the high price of our room (it cost as much as our room in a 4-star hotel in HK). The shared toilets and showers are in dire need of a good scrubbing, and our room was not even swept - there were trash lying all around the floor when we arrived. We tried to ignore these, however, because we love the location. It is located high up in the mountains, in the shadow of Lantau Peak. The weather was nice and cold, there are several hiking trails nearby, and Lantau Peak is just 1.5 kms from the starting point of the trail beside the hostel. The hostel also has a big dining area and a well-equipped kitchen, plus several barbecue pits.

（中国在住日本人）国慶節休暇に家族で一泊しました。ランタオ島の自然を満喫するには最適の立地です。我々はランタオピーク（鳳凰山:934m）登山の基地として利用しました。ただ、夜間の公共交通はなく、滞在中の食料は全て持ち込む必要があります。給湯・空調・wifiのサービスはあります。
