"It seems La Quinta Hotels are always under construction and that was no different this time. One of the reasons I stay is that they have a free breakfast and this trip I needed to use that, but when I got there, there was no kitchen and therefore no breakfast and no coffee at all. Even the vending machines were gone. The best they could do was water bottles and a cookie or granola bar. I booked with Expedia, and the hotel mentioned nothing about the lack of breakfast, and didn't give us any price adjustment. I get to the room and the TV was on. I thought that was unusual until I tried to turn it off. It would not go off. Apparently the remote was not set up for the TV, which was surprising since it should have been done when the TV was placed in the room. When I got back from dinner I went down. to the lobby with the remote, thinking it was the batteries, and the desk attendant first stated she had no batteries. She said the engineer would have to fix the TV. He came up about 20 minutes later and spent another 20 minutes fooling around with the TV and it finally worked. When I went to bed I noticed that the light in the bathroom was on. I went back and turned it off and got back in bed and 5 minutes later the light came back on. I had to put up with the light on for two nights. Also lots of pounding and hammering. I think I am owned some money back as the hotel was not fit for guests."
