Tropicana Atlantic City – A Caesars Rewards Destination
2/5 Poor
"I chose this hotel because of the reviews describing it as family-friendly, and I brought my three kids with me. We upgraded to one of the newer Solana Tower rooms, which was nice overall—but the windows were incredibly dirty, to the point where you could barely see outside.
We did see some families with children around the property, so it seems like others do choose this hotel for that purpose. However, navigating the hotel was challenging—it felt like a maze just trying to get to the main area (“The Quarter”) where most of the shops and restaurants are located. There is an arcade that my kids enjoyed, which was a plus. Carmine’s is also inside the hotel, though we didn’t end up dining there.
That said, there really aren’t many entertainment or dining options beyond gambling. The experience became especially concerning on our last morning. A visibly intoxicated man was wandering the hallways, going up to guest room doors—including ours—yelling and cursing. This made both me and my children feel unsafe.
We had planned to leave our bags in the car and return to relax in the room until our late checkout, but after that incident, we no longer felt comfortable staying and decided to leave the property early.
Overall, I would say this hotel may be fine for adults who are primarily there to gamble. However, I would not recommend it for families, as the environment and safety concerns did not meet our expectations. I would not return."
