Such a beautiful property and home. The indoor space was beautiful, historic (so much fun to look around at all the decorating) and comfortable. I wish we would have had longer at the house to enjoy the outdoor firepit. It has such a nice area outside to sit and catch up. Aside from the firepit, there were two picnic tables and the porch was georgous. Beds were so comfy, plenty of extra blankets. Even the towels they provide were wonderful. Kitchen had everything and more. Highly recommend this home if you're traveling to Cedar Rapids or Marion.

Great history in this Old Farmhouse, which we loved. Host was very cooperative & made every effort to ensure our needs were met. Big house, big space, quite & charming. Would stay here again for sure!

John is a great host. He answers all questions and gives information about not only the home itself but also he let us know that there would be road construction when we were there. It was very helpful to be aware of ahead of time.The house and property was just as he described it. We enjoyed the land around the house especially the big fenced in yard for our dog who had plenty of space to run outdoors. We were pleased to see so many deer on the far side of the property each morning as well. It felt like we were away from city life but there were still stores, restaurants, etc. just a short drive down the street.The hiking/biking path was within walking distance which made for a convenient place to explore both on foot and on bikes.It is close to Cedar Rapids so there was a variety of things to do and places to see as well.

Cute farmhouse!

My family enjoyed our stay at the Marion farmhouse. It was a clean and comfortable place with lovely grounds. Owners were very easy to work with and highly supportive, while respective our autonomy. Highly recommended!

What a weekend!!!

We were lucky enough to have an intimate family wedding here and everything was perfect. John and Kari are wonderfully accommodating hosts and the property could not have been more perfect. Located continently near anything you need but tucked away enough to feel like a real get away. The historic vibe and peace of Fairview Farm is just what we need wanted for our special day.

Excellent for large group

Came for a wedding celebration in Marion. The house is large and well equipped. Plenty of room for seven of us plus a dog. Felt together but also spread out. Two and a half bathrooms. Huge property to play ball, etc. Would highly recommend for a large group of family/friends!

Wonderful place for family gatherings!

We needed a place for a large family gathering after Thanksgiving Day dinner. This was perfect. We could spread out, have time to nap, room for the little ones to run around, fire place was perfect! Everyone had plenty of room. If the weather would have been warmer we could have enjoyed the day outside more but that’s November in Iowa😄

Weekend family gathering

It’s a wonderful old farm house with lots of character and is very room with lots of private surrounding land. Perfect spot for us to visit family. We’ve stayed there multiple times and will be back again I’m sure.

Reunited

We were reunited with our foreign exchange student from 3 years ago! It was a very special time. The house worked out great for us. The location was good. And what was very helpful was all the extras that were provided. Tue kitchen was well stocked as was the laundry facilities! And the porch was fantastic! We would stay again!

Beautiful old farmhouse!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful old farmhouse. The house was exceptionally clean. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. There was lots of land to walk our dogs and the very large fenced in area for an off leash romp was a bonus. There were six adults in our party, and we had plenty of room to spread out. It was a great stay!

An awesome stay at the farmhouse

The farmhouse and grounds were a perfect spot for us to celebrate my dad's 90th birthday. Everyone loved it. The house itself is beautiful, complete with amazing woodwork and authentic creaky hardwood floors. I felt like I was back in my grandparents old house!

Nice & toasty

John was great in communicating to us. Unfortunately the air conditioning was not operating correctly upon arrival and the first night was a little toasty in the house! But the next morning it was repaired and cooled down so we slept comfortably! The house was clean and beds were comfortable. It’s unfortunate that the air conditioning was not working properly for one of the two nights we were there.

Girls weekend trip

The house was amazing. Clean, comfortable beds, everything you need was there. So relaxing for our girls weekend. Close to shopping and food but relaxing like being in the country sitting on the porch with a coffee and a good book.

Family get together!

We wanted a place that could accommodate our family of 5 with their significant others. This Victorian beauty has so much charm! It gave us ample space to hang out as a family. We utilized the formal parlor to have a cup of coffee and visit. We enjoyed the informal family room to watch tv. Beds were super comfy in all the rooms. Check in and check out was so easy! We hope to stay here again!
