We had a wonderful room, wirh two terraces and heaps of light and space . The staff were very efficient and professional. The hotel is opposite Atocha Station so the traffic is pretty constant and chaotic but didn't worry us. It's close to Prado, Reina Sofia and the Botanical Gardens. There are restaurants within 10 minute walk. It was a real winner for us.

We picked this hotel because it is across from the train station. It has an excellent location for museums and the park. I was concerned that it might be noisy but it even though we had a room that faced the street and train station it was very quiet! They kept our bags after checking out so we had the afternoon to explore the old part of the city by metro that is right outside the door! I highly recommend.

We were too cold with the air conditioner going 24-7 and we couldn’t turn it off. Other than that the location, service, condition of hotel, and breakfast are EXCELLENT! I highly recommend NH Atocha.

I had a great experience at NH Hotel Atocha! The staff was excellent, friendly, professional, and went out of their way to get us into our room early, which was such a nice surprise after traveling. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better! It is close to the metro, the train station, and plenty of restaurants and sights within walking distance. It made getting around Madrid so easy. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Perfect package all around!

Mold everywhere

Place was dirty. Mold everywhere from the bathroom to the room itself. The bed sheets were dirty, but I forgot to take a picture of it. We only stayed a night to rest after a long flight and it was conveniently located next to atocha station where we needed to go

Tiny rooms, ok for a short stay

Very small room, no kettle (but fridge, yes, that is a plus point), rude breakfast lady (I just wanted a cup of hot water, but she looked at me like a criminal) as I opted out from the overpriced breakfast. It's literally a few steps away from the train station, that's a good point.

The property is directly across from the Atocha Central train station making it a perfect jumping off point. The entrance has an elevator to lower baggage or any mobility aids to the entrance which is a few steps below street level. Within about 2 yards is an elevator that takes you down to the Metro and Atocha station.

Best for train travellers

Very convenient for Atocha station despite roadworks. Arriving by car is hazardous as there is no loading bay and the hotel is on a main road by 2 bus stops. Staff very helpful. Room was very small with little space for luggage. TV reception poor. Only one small lift. Good breakfast.
