Room was clean and had no smell/fragrance whatsoever except maybe a very slight wood smell. No air fresheners. No febreeze. No obnoxious laundry smells. Absolutely perfect. Staff was friendly, view of the lake was beautiful. Breakfast was okay to bad. All options were highly processed (except hard boiled eggs). Example: “syrup” was the Smuckers fake stuff, the cream cheese had unnecessary ingredients like manufactured citric acid, etc. Only protein options were I think hard boiled eggs and yogurt with sugar and flavoring and other ingredients. There were microwave breakfast sandwiches too I guess. If you have food sensitivities just plan on bringing your own or finding another place. They had a really big tea selection available all the time and you can buy refreshments including beer at the front desk. The restaurant was really good with a beautiful view and great service. Was able to take a bath, lots of places to hang wet hiking clothes. The area is beautiful. Highly recommend the roaring brook trail to Mount Greylock. Would stay again in a heartbeat. If you have mobility/strength needs, make sure you book a first floor room as there is no elevator.

I had a great stay at this comfortable, homey, family owned inn. The beds were vrry comfortable and the rooms had everything I needed including a fridge, lots of towels, a hair dryer etc. The property is clean, safe and very quiet. There’s an Indian restaurant on site with delicious food and a bar. The lake is lovely; I enjoyed a relaxing time sitting by the lake with my dog. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room has a gorgeous view of the lake. I will definitely be back for another stay.

Perfect retreat in Berkshire

Black Swan Innvis a very nice Inn. The place is clean, feels like it was newly renovated. The room is spacious and the amenities are nice. The bed is very comfortable , bathroom is big enough. There is a nice lake at the back where you can hang out and relax or rent a pontoon . Breakfast is included, it is adequate. Staff are very friendly especially Michelle at the front desk. It is about 5 min drive to downtown with places to eat and shop. I will stay here again. Oh,they are also pet friendly... awesome!!!

Michelle and Maddie made my stay very pleasant. When I first came in Maddie helped me get settled.Needed an adjustment to my room and she took care of it. Michelle made sure that everything was available for breakfast for me in spite of the pancake maker having a temporary clog. So nice to stay at a place where people will make the extra effort! Both women helped me with my bags. Great place to stay.

Relatively speaking, there is nothing to complain about! I do wish they offered anything other than Indian cuisine, but Mink was a busy place judging from people I saw coming and going from there, and everyone sounded positive. Love 24 hr front desk, the rockers out front, friendliness of the staff, sufficient continental bkfst and, most of all, everything was clean and maintained. Close to shops and tavern in town, a 10 minute drive to Tanglewood. What a diamond in the rough. See you next time!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Black Swan Inn and can’t wait to come back! The property is spotless, very well maintained, and beautifully cared for by the owner. The staff (including the owner himself) are incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. The inn has a wonderful view and such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere – the perfect place to sit with a book or simply recharge. Everything feels organized and calm. We visited for the Bonnie Raitt concert at Tanglewood, which is super close by, and it was the perfect choice for the weekend. I also went running on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, an absolutely gorgeous trail perfect not only for running but also for biking and rollerblading – such a highlight of the trip! Highly recommended!

Our room was facing Route 20 and when I questioned the noise when we first got to the end, we were told that all noise would stop at 9 PM unfortunately it was so loud and noisy all night long with cars and trucks that I could barely sleep the whole night I felt like I was in the center of New York City I wish I had been warned about this when I did ask about it other than that the end is immaculate. The linen is excellent, and the staff is nice.

This property appears to have been last renovated sometime in the 80s. The bathrooms have since been renovated, but the rooms have old carpeting and furnishings that are musty. The rugs in the main hallways are thread bear the property advertises that it has a lake recreation area, but there is no swimming allowed. This is not the type of place that you would want to stay if you plan on spending any time in your hotel room or on site.

It was in a good location. Hotel was clean, nice view on the lake. Decent breakfast. Indian restaurant on site was very good.

We had a good stay at the Black Swann Inn. I think some of the mixed comments can be understood in terms of expectations. It is. It a quaint New England inn with a common room and cushy furniture. It is more like a holiday inn. With that understanding it does its job - it is clean, comfortable and has the bonus of outdoor space on the lake with Adirondack chairs and boat rentals.
