There were a few minor glitches, but each was handled with crisp attention and complete satisfaction. Management is superb, the housekeepers excellent, the barkeepers knowledgeable. Highly recommended, excited to see finished first and top floor renovations.
We booked the property for the pool and tiki bar, which was closed due to painting the property. Also, the rooms were under construction where we had masking tape on the bathroom light fixtures and wall to hold the wallpaper up.
I am trying to be as fair minded and honest as I can be. The stay itself, other than construction workers, drilling directly outside our room, early in the morning, was wonderful. The front desk greeted us very warmly and weee very accomodating. After we checked out, I noticed that we were billed twice for the stay-once by Orbitz and once by La Concha. I called and reported the issue. They admitted their error and said it would be corrected. Since then, they refuse to communicate with me or Orbitz on the status of the reversal. The hotel made the mistake but now, I am the bad guy? Very puzzling and upsetting. A 5 star stay followed by a 1 star experience equals 3 stars. The staff deserves a 5 but management drags the score down. Thank you to the hard working staff at La Concha for all you do for your guests!
Was not made aware that construction was going on until reading the post in the elevator. EVERYDAY we would hear the banging and hear items being dragged across the floor. Not a pleasant experience at 8:00 am, and they were even working on the weekend. Was offered a different room; however, contruction was on the 2nd, 5th and TT floors. No matter where we would be placed we would still have heard the work being done. We have stayed at the La Concha for our anniversary since 2009. This will be our last time unfortunately. We were told that our destination fees would be waived, yet only 2 nights were deducted. We were there 7 nights. At approximately $300 or more per night, we really had higher expectations.
Central to everything Key West offers. Rooms were great!
The morning after we arrived, got a call from the front desk saying they needed our credit card again because it was not swiped yet the $400 was on our card. Then a pending amount of $623 and $417 were pending on our card the day after that. We paid in full when we booked our trip so I didn't understand all these pending charges. Had to go to front desk times to tell them before they were finally removed. There is alot of constuction going on at the hotel, very noisy, water shut off from 11 to 3 for three days while there. We had breakfast included which included picking from a menu, second day they changed to a buffet so it was the exact same food everyday. They give tickets for a complimentary drink when you arrive, we never recieved them. A pina colada at the pool bar is $16!! Rooms are not cleaned well, we had Dorito crumbs on the floor that were never vacummed nor were toilets cleaned. Only place to get ice is at front desk which is very inconvenient and employees are not very friendly when you ask for it. Also when we booked it said there was a work out room but it was closed because of the construction. Place is expensive to stay at and is not worth it and will never stay there again!!
Loved are room the pool! Was a great experience
La Concha is a great place to stay on Duval St. They'll take care of you!
Had to ask the staff to clean the room. had to come to the desk to get ice. Some of the staff tried to con you,
Historic property with modern amenities
The location is very convenient.
For the amount of money, I feel it was not worth it. The pool is so small, the bathroom is even smaller. You charged me 40.00 a day for what? The place needs updating and do away with the 40.00 a day unless you're going to give me something for it. The people working there were so great.
liked location, easy to walk to and quieter than the main area. Room needs a refresh, very dated and kinda of blah
Location was great! Cooler of water bottles was a nice touch in the lobby to grab as you need.
