John Day sits about 80 miles from the nearest city of any size. It has limited overnight choices. The Best Western, while nice, costs the same as the Best Western at Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris. This is John Day, folks. Dreamers Lodge, while not the newest or fanciest motel, is very nice, clean, safe, easily located, walking distance to restaurants AND reasonably priced. This is our choice every time.

Friendly welcome, clean older motel in historic John Day. We liked the recliners but they could’ve used a bit of Fabreeze or something to freshen their aroma. We walked to dinner- good location, good motel 😊
