Staff was super - The hotel not so much.

Way overpriced for an outdated and well-worn facility that should be rated and priced as a low-budget motel. We were on the motorcycle all day and booked this based on the pictures, as we wanted a bit of comfort after a long day in the saddle. We could as well have booked one of the other motels in town and gotten the same 'value' for much less. We expected more from a Best Western.

This is a sweet motel in the heart of John Day. While it is an older design-it is a very pleasant place to stay in a rural part of Oregon. We found good food at the Outpost Pizza adjacent to the inn. It served delicious pizza. The bar tender was personable and made our dinner fun.

We have small dogs that like to bark. They didn't hear the neighbors doors close or people talking so they were quiet the whole time. The hotel was almost full so there were people around. Nice soundproofing. And its a very safe, we left and accidentally left the door not closed all the way. We were gone for HOURS and nothing was touched, everything as we left it.
