Be very careful with Expedia. They do false advertising. Read your receipt, word by word before making your reservation or you will be surprised once at the property with surprise fees like ours, $347.00 additional fees that Expedia refuses to refund. They advertise that the property considers all kids “adults”, but suddenly at the property their age matters and they charge you extra. I’m still waiting on Expedia. I have a recording of the manager pretty much admitting it is their mistake, but I should have also checked with the facility directly. For the price; I’ve stayed at way better places. Room was infested with ants, all over, including the bed. When I reported it to the staff, I got a bottle of Raid. We were given another room for the night, which smelled terrible, AC did not work, and pillow shams smelled like someone had slept there and the sheets were not changed. We paid extra for a private pool that was never serviced. The water was so unsanitary appearing, I didn’t let my kids swim in it much. Sheets were never changed, even when requested. You get charged a $20 for each pool towel. The only decent thing was breakfast. But even during our stay they decided to have some repairs, which gave off a terrible smell all the way to the pool.

We enjoyed this quiet small property. Appreciate the staff. Although it was quit confusing after making reservations through Expedia I then received an email from Villas HM Palapas indicating if I didn't pick a room number we could lose our reservations, yet when I went to choose the room I only had one choice. Then a few days later I was told we had to pay an additional fee for the room we requested! WHAT!? Don't fall for this. You do not need to pick your room of choice. All the rooms I'm sure are lovely but I felt this was the resorts way of making more money off us. So once we arrived we not only had to pay for our room we reserved but the additional taxes. For this i was disappointed.

Very quiet and relaxing resort. Food was great with different international cuisines each night. Loved the personal pool with our room. Best place to stay if you are looking for slow pace and relaxing vibe.

After reading a few reviews I was a bit worried about what to expect, but it was nothing that I experienced. Staff were great, breakfast was awesome, and property was beautiful. Felt like a boutique hotel but with a very cool theme. Beach access is great and wonderful for watching sunsets. Pools are also great and both can get a little crowded but never too much. We had 0 issues with safety either. Walkable to the town and far enough for quiet nights. 10/10 experience. We never got our welcome drink I guess cause we checked in in the evening but breakfast was pretty good and solid. Didn’t have all inclusive so kind of felt like you couldn’t get anything at the hotel past breakfast and that could be a little more clear but never had WiFi issues either. A beautiful hotel and experience, would recommend for sure. If only doing all inclusive on a night or two, the BBQ night and Mexican night looked the best and had music. Would recommend for the hotel to get golf carts as not everyone wants to drive the bigger Polaris. Bike riding on sand is not easy.

Had High expectations for HM Villas Palapas Del Mar. my husband and I were supposed to stay 7 days. By the 2nd day I’ve had enough. I had never experience such bad, racist service. We will be completely ignored because we are not Caucasian. We definitely think, the staff assumed because of our color we had no money to tip. We had already paid for the full stay, but at that point we didn’t care go spent extra money where we could be treated w dignity and respect. Even in our check in, did not get offered upgrades or the Platinum all inclusive. We had to find out later we couldn’t get some items because we were not Platinum. If you want to leave the comfort of your home to get treated like this. Think twice.

When I first arrived I didn’t have cash for the taxi and the front desk gentleman kindly let me borrow cash until I was able to go to an ATM. So very kind. The place itself was SUPER clean and in a great part of the island. Quiet yet walkable to the town and on a big part of the beach.

Excellent quiet beach location with many loungers/palapas! Short walk to the town. There is a Convenience store next to the resort/beach which is nice! Daily breakfast buffet had good variety. Highly recommend a room with a private pool! Staff was very friendly and helpful!

L'endroit est tout simplement des plus reposant et calme. Un peu plus éloigné du centre-ville de Holbox donc procurant une quiétude assurée de même que de très bons lits de plage en quantité suffisante bien que l'hôtel ne semblait pas à pleine capacité. Nous avons également pris deux dîners ainsi qu'un buffet du soir et la nourriture était bonne. Beaucoup de personnel sur place et un entretien constant impeccable. Je recommande cet hôtel assurément et je n'hésiterais pas à y retourner.

Antonio and his staff were wonderful. Very supportive and helpful. An easy walk from downtown, on a glorious white sandy beach. Very quiet and safe, isolated relative to big events. Not for the party hard crowd. No cars, only dune buggy/jeep cross type vehicles. Food was excellent and varied. Don't miss BBQ night
