We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We stayed in a two bedroom ocean view room in the Lagoon tower. Our room was absolutely huge and the staff did an incredible job cleaning every day. It was well appointed with all of the amenities you would need for a nice, long stay. We did find it very quiet during the day but at night there was a really loud band playing every night until around 10 0mm. We checked it out (they were located in the tapa bar area) and every single night it was so loud (with doors and windows closed on the 16th floor) it sounded like they were right outside of our room. I’d you like to go to bed early or are a light sleeper this may be an issuer for you - luckily it wasn’t for us). We loved the beach but didn’t frequent the pools because they seemed over crowded …. But who needs the pools when you have the Pacific Ocean right there? The staff at the resort were extremely friendly and helpful l. When we initially checked in we were given a room that faced the buildings in the street behind us. This was frustrating but I went right back down to speak with the manager. I advised him that I wasn’t happy with the room view as I had paid $1000 USD extra for the “ocean view” vs. the standard view and he promptly moved me to the correct room without any issues. Our only other minor challenge was that our room description said it came with a washer/dryer in the unit and it did not. Overall I loved the property and would definetly wee again.

The Hilton Grand Vacations Club was great for my family. I had a conference at the convention center, so this was a great place for my family to hang out at while I was at the conference. The room was perfect, with the large main bedroom, and the pull out couch. The kitchen area had everything we needed, and it was nice to have 2 large porches to enjoy. The walk to the beach was short, and the beaches really nice for swimming. Great workout room and adult swimming pool in the Kalia Tower.

Terrible communication. No staff to help. Everyone was on strike. No housekeeping or front desk people. Had to pay $80/day for parking We stayed through time share at the Grand Islander tower and one night in the Kaila Tower. I’m not happy to have to had pay for parking. You should have that free for people who pay for their stay. I will never be back and won’t recommend anyone to this resort.

Are stay at the Hilton was the holiday from hell from having no one at check in on arrival to having no house keeping to protesters screaming outside our window from 7am to 10pm , our room was over looking the lagoon and people would jump the fence and use the pools and slides during the night screaming and laughing so I assume there was no security as well , bars near the old were closed , my husband has a medical condition and I wouldn’t never have stayed if I had apocalypse knew how bad the conditions were, you had a duty of care to inform me of the circumstances, I was told at the end of my stay they wouldn’t charge the resort fee , as you know I use hotels.com a lot but I am disappointed that you didn’t inform me of the strike , bookings. Com informed there customers!

The Hilton Hawaiian Village has an ongoing (over a month) strike that the hotel neglected to make us aware of prior to arrival. They handed us a letter at check-in. The property is large, hotel is severely understaffed, and check-in is not smooth (they double charged us and lost our luggage because they checked us in at the wrong desk); apparently there’s a hotel side and a timeshare side. It is also nearly impossible to get any sheets or assistance with non-functional washer/dryers even after calling guest services hourly. Staff has been flown in and brought from other Hilton locations and are unfamiliar with this hotel and cannot help guests identify buildings or activities and many restaurants and amenities are unavailable. Yet somehow on day 2 we got a phone call trying to rope us into the timeshare talks. The one permanent hotel staff we encountered on Day 3 was clearly frustrated or overworked and was the least helpful or empathetic person we encountered. Highly disappointed with our stay and would NOT recommend anyone to stay there, at least until they resolve the strike.

There’s strike and no service was provided. Room wasn’t cleaned when I checked in. No room service provided and they put towels on one floor and we had to go there to have new towel. No way to empty trash can. The strike started from 6AM and ended 10PM. We couldn’t sleep because of the noose from strike and even hard to stay in the room. The worst thing is hotel didn’t tell anything about it until I complained it

Worst Hotel Experience – Don’t Waste Your Money !!! We stayed at this hotel in Hawaii for 8 days, and it was a disaster from start to finish. More than half of the workers were on strike, and they made noise all day long, from 6 AM to 10 PM, EVERY SINGLE DAY. It was impossible to relax with the constant commotion outside. To make matters worse, our room wasn’t cleaned even once during our entire stay. We had to go down 10 floors just to get basic necessities like towels, toilet paper, and hand soap. Nobody came to take out the trash, so we had to leave it in the hallway ourselves. It took days for the staff to finally pick it up, and during that time, the halls smelled disgusting because of dirty diapers and other trash. We paid THOUSANDS of dollars expecting a relaxing vacation, but instead, we ended up doing everything ourselves. For the amount we paid, we expected way better service. This was hands down the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. I do not recommend staying here.

Protest at Hilton Hawaiian Resort

There is currently a pay with cleaning staff protesting, marching & picketing outside the entrances to the Hilton Hawaiian complex. There is non stop chanting from the protestors using megaphones from 7am until 10pm. This dispute had been going on for several weeks prior to our arrival. We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club within the Hilton Hawaiian complex & the ongoing horrendous noise caused us to spend more time away from the resort than we had planned. There is no service to rooms with guests having to remove rubbish, change their own bedding linen & bath towels etc which was provided each day on trolleys on each floor. The Hotel itself was very good & the staff who were working did a great job however there was no communication prior to, or during our stay from the hotel management about the protest & there was no mention of any form of compensation to be made to guests. I was able to get the daily resort fee deducted from our total bill but I really think the Hilton should reimburse us a good portion of the cost of our total stay. Great Hotel to stay at normally but the protestors and very poor communication from Hilton Management ruined our holiday.

HOTEL WORKERS ON STRIKE - DO NOT STAY

You cannot stay here. The hotel workers are on strike. No housekeeping, front desk service only 12pm-5pm, no pool bar, restaurants bare boned. Employees still working are unfamiliar with property (brought in to keep it running). On top of these more minor details, the strikers mean BUSINESS. They have drums, they have megaphones, they have air horns. They chant and picket loudly from 6am-10pm at ALL public parts of the property. This means all entrances, this means the lagoon, this means the public beach that is next to the pools. You can hear them at surrounding hotels, which means right now the decibel level is untenable. Our family made it 1 night before we realized how quiet the rest of Waikiki was. Feel free to remove this review after the strike ends - as the property looked cool and this review is so topical. But I hope hotels.com lets this stay up while the strike is ongoing because the strike is important -- but it also seriously degrades this hotel experience -- and I want people to know.

We stayed during the worker strike, which started a day after we checked in and continued well past our check-out (6 night stay). The property itself was fine, no complaint; unfortunately the strike will be the significant memory from our stay. Also, apparently this was the 2nd strike within a very short amount of time; so it seems Hilton needs to get its act together with their employees. Obviously our stay was impacted by the strike, but overall the striking workers were respectful to the guests; e.g. crossing picket lines, etc. Of course some guests will complain, but the workers have to do what they have to do and I'm in no position to judge. Main impacts were... No housekeeping during the strike. The hotel did provide clean towels and linens, but placed them in a room where guests had to fetch themselves. We stayed in the Lagoon tower and each floor had such a room for linens--not sure about other towers. We were in a suite with a kitchen and we did some cooking; so trash started to accumulate very quickly. We had to put our trash out into the hall way and fetch new trash bags ourselves. No big deal, but not a good vibe when hallways are filled with trash bags. Noise in early mornings and late evenings. Again, workers need to do what they need to do. This meant chanting, mega horns, sirens, drums starting around 7am until around 10pm every day. This woke up my kids and impacted our itinerary since they needed naps in the day. Others, but going to hit word limit....

This was the first time I stayed at this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and it has a lot of shops, restaurants and amenities within the property. The pool is beautiful and fun for the kids. On the other hand the workers were on strike and we were not notified in advance. When I arrived at the hotel with my elderly parents, daughter and teen nephew/niece we were appalled to see the line for check in. We stayed on line for about an hour after a long flight from NY. When we checked in we were informed that there was no cleaning service and that we have to go to the 12 floor for linens, soap, toilet paper, etc. Due to the constant noise we weren't able to enjoy our stay. We couldn't sleep because the strikers began chanting with loud speakers and drums at 6:00am and ended between 9:30pm-10:30pm every day we were there. We could not sit at the balcony, or relax by the pool because of the noise. The restaurant by the pool was closed so whenever the kids got hungry we have to leave the premises to get food. We were also told that we have to leave the garbage on the hallway which made the hotel looked like a cheap motel. We should’ve been informed of the situation prior to our arrival so we could’ve made an informed decision, but expedia nor hilton contacted us. I wish I could have left a better review but the whole strike ruined our vacation.

To start out, all the workers were on strike. While checking in at main lobby there was a musician nearby that had the speaker so loud you could barely hear what was being said. We waited 2hrs for our room to be ready after check-in. We waited another half hour to just get on an elevator. There was no maid service, no valet, etc. The workers that were on strike thought it would be useful to shout with bullhorns 15hrs a day to get their message out. The pools were open but obviously dirty, the pool bars and restaurants were all closed. If you were looking for a nice, enjoyable, peaceful vacation this was far from it. Basically you had to leave early in the morning(before 7am) and stay out late (after 10pm) if you didn't want to hear chanting on bullhorns. I was very disappointed and most likely will never go back to Hilton Hawaiian Village.
