We got back after a long hot day and had to switch rooms with out 3 kids because the AC was broke the in the new room the shower leaked and the bath didn't work then at 3 am the fire alarm continued to go off till 6 am and staff told us "well things happen just like at home" I am extremely disappointed in this stay and would like compensation of a refund for at least 1 night of the 2

We booked this room because the hotel had a pool. Afte a long hot motorcycle ride we wanted to cool off. Upon arriving and checking we were informed the pool was closed. Hotel.com did not have this on their website. Very disappointed they we didn’t know before booking the room.

Rude manager and staff!

Hotel was clean. Pool was nice. Room was nice. I am extremely disappoint with the customer service. My Mother in Law took our four boys to Alton to visit family. She is in the best health she's been in years and finally was able to make this trip. It is a trip she has been dreaming of going on for a while now. She is fully capable of taking care of our kids even though there are four of them. She is a full time teacher still as well. The kids were not at the hotel, but only 3-4 hours max a day as they were mostly visiting sites and family. They would leave after breakfast and a come back around 8pm and be sleeping by 10pm. We are in the resort industry and our kids know how to behave in public! The manager told my mother in law she was too old to be doing this and incapable of containing four children on her own. This is a family friendly hotel! Several times they threatened to kick her out for noise complaints. They were extremely mad the 7 year old was getting his own cereal in the morning with her present. She just felt extremely unwelcome and didn't know what to do about it. Very disappointing and won't be going back.

Beds were surprisingly comfy but the trains that run behind the tree line you can hear it almost every half an hour, and those were noisy.

The staff was kind and the room was clean and bed was comfortable and for me that is saying alot. It is a bit difficult to determine which drive to go into, maybe better signage. The breakfast was not the greatest. But sufficient.

Do not stay here!

BEWARE do NOT stay here!!!! The hotel is so Dirty, windows don’t close all the way, pool was “out of service” green water, No cable tv, it was “out” whole time, WiFi worked one day. Front desk clerk was always on their cell phone, so rude. Returning to our room at 8:30 pm on our last 3rd night, Housekeeping didn’t clean our room, when we called and told front desk requesting clean towels, we were told towels were locked in a room and he didn’t have a key, it’s our fault, we must have left sign on door telling them not to come in, when we said we did not do that he accused US of being rude and hung up phone on us! We are a professional, older couple traveling for the weekend from out of state for a retirement party. The request for towels escalated into an argument and WE were asked to leave by the desk clerk! There was No manager on site and repeated requests to speak to a manager were denied. The whole experience was traumatizing! They refused to give us a receipt and charged us for the whole stay! Never in our lives has anything like this ever happened! Do not stay here!

HORRIBLE! Christina the front desk manager is crazy and extremely rude! Doesn’t know what she’s doing and threatened to call the police because I was upset you didn’t have the room that I booked and she had no idea why??!! Don’t stay here !

Staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful. The room was very comfortable. However the swimming pool was out of order/closed yet I was still charged full price and not informed of this ahead of time. Also (a minor inconvenience) if you want to watch tv while relaxing in the room, it takes forever to change the channel and/or find out what is showing on any of the channels because you have to spend many minutes using the arrow keys on the remote slowly going up or down the channels to find the guide channels. Truly ridiculous how long changing the channel takes.
