Hotels in Chelmsford

"Check in staff was great, Unfortunately there was no mention of the renovations going on at the hotel. I even asked to be situated away from the elevator due to noise. We were in town for a wedding which as expected ended late saturday night. Around 845am sunday we were abruptly woken to the sound of a belt sander or something. I called the desk rught away and was told "okay, ill check" it went on for about 15 minutes in total. When we went to keave, we discovered we were between two rooms being completely gutted and reonvated. I can absolutely understand hotels needing to renovate. However, to not even mention it to guests, AND book a room BETWEEN two rooms being completely renovated was unacceptable. The parking lot was about 30% full so i find it hard to believe the hotel was at capcity. To make matters worse, upon checkout when i nitified staff of my displeasure, i was simply met with "sorry about that, have a good day" . I have contacted hotels.com so far with no remedy. I would not recommend this jotel based on their lack of concern for guests stays. Aside from that, thibgs were what you would expect for the rate. Its rather unfortunate people just dint seem to care anymore about hospitality and their reputation. "
