Thousand Hills Resort Hotel
5/5 Excellent
"Honestly, no complaints about the hotel. For the money, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value. Staff was among the friendliest we've ever encountered at a hotel or resort. Bedding was fresh and the beds were extremely comfortable. This is a slightly older hotel, there were chips in the bathtub and the showers could use fresh caulking. But, again, for the price; the room was better than expected. The breakfast was much better than similar priced hotels, biscuits were hot and flaky. The scrambled eggs and gravy weren't to the same quality as everything else, but overall an extremely nice buffet breakfast that was frequently refreshed. The kids thought the french toast was really good; and I enjoyed that the had actual fresh tasting fruit. The pool area was smaller than we thought, but the kids still had a blast swimming between the indoor and outdoor areas. Even though the pool does have one deep area, most of the pool is somewhat shallow. One word of caution, the parking lot is massive, but the parking that doesn't require uphill/downhill walking is limited. Luckily, they have several elevators and luggage racks near the check in area. Elevators were always open. The overall hotel could probably use a refresh, but nothing really stood out in a negative light. As is, the hotel won't compete against higher end, more expensive places; but it's considerably better than other hotels in the same price range. Will absolutely stay again!"
