Wonderful cabin

The cabin was beautiful and well stocked with cooking supplies, games, towels etc. The beds were super comfortable. The hosts have done every possible to make this a lovely stay including NOT leaving a long list of things to do before you leave. As other reviews state, the walk down to the lake is a bit long and steep, but there are stairs. I got my exercise. We were a bit disappointed that the lake was so green with algae that swimming anywhere near the cabin was out of the question, the Beach was just 15 minutes away and that was nice. We also used the kayaks for a bit which we could launch right off the dock. The porch and the fire pit were lovely.

Wedding weekend

Cabin is beautiful. First time in Wisconsin and it was a fantastic experience. There was an odor from the basement bathroom that was very noticeable. All in all we loved it.

Beautiful house close to the lake

We had an amazing time staying here! The house was very well kept and beautiful. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. Gene was very helpful and responded right away with any questions we had. Would definitely book again!

Amazing Winter Escape

I’m sure this place is amazing in the summer, but the winter is where it’s at in this quiet, toasty getaway. We stayed for a week and had a wood fire in the fireplace whenever we were awake!! It’s cozy, yet spacious if that makes sense. If you all want to be together it’s easy to do and if you want to be off doing separate things that’s easy too. For example: I was working while we were there and my daughter was able to find plenty to do while there away from where I was working. Pros: Wood burning FireplaceWood burning FireplaceWood burning FireplaceVery cleanSuper comfortable bedsClean white bleached linensGood water pressureNice hot water (not lukewarm like some places)Huge bathroomFully stocked kitchen with dishwasherGorgeous views of the woods and the lakeClose to Cameron and Chetek (very quick drive to Rice Lake)Very easy to findNeighbors are far enough away you feel like you’re up there all alone but close enough if you ever need help or anythingGreat communication with host - very clear directions and very prompt repliesSnowplow came while we were there and cleared the drivewayDidn’t get a huge list of cleaning tasks like some places!! ConsOnly 1 - the kitchen is so well stocked there’s nowhere to really keep pantry food so it kind of ended up on the counter and islandIt was so peaceful. We will definitely stay there again!

Wonderful property in a quiet location! Great for some wilderness relaxation! Dock is quite a walk from the cabin, this could be an issue when taking tackle and/or gear down to boat.

Adorable cabin!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Cottage on Prairie! The house was very clean when we checked in. It had everything we needed. Not that far of a walk to the lake. I loved having my coffee on the porch in the mornings! We all enjoyed kayaking! Just an adorable place to stay! I miss it already!

Space in woods

Property was great! Very clean. Extremely comfortable beds. Like-new grill. Owner was accommodating and easy to reach. Just wished the beautiful porch was closer to the water.
