This lovely apartment, is beautifully situated in the main square (Plaza Mayor) in Caceres. We were staying over Easter and although the weather stopped some of the processions taking place, we were still able to enjoywhat Easter means in Catholic Spain as the magnificent, devotional pageants paraded directly under our balcony window – what a view The apartment is well appointed and very comfortable. Obviously as Spain is a chatty place there was some noise audible from the square where the cafes and bars are, but there was no rowdiness and it was not a problem. We felt secure at all times. It is up a flight of steps but there is a stair lift for those who might need help The apartment really could not be better situated. Directly opposite the apartment is the medieval centre, which is truly monumental and the reason Caceres has its Unesco heritage status. It is magical at night Also opposite the apartment is a taxi rank – necessary as the trip to the station is too far to be practical by foot with luggage. But otherwise, walking through the adjacent main shopping street of Pintores, one arrives at Av de Espana where there are numerous buses to the train station and the bus station, for other destinations such as Merida. Nearby is Plaza de San Juan a pretty place for an evening drink David and Emmanuelle could not have been more helpful and that added to the pleasure of the trip In summary, a beautiful apartment in a very special place. We loved it
