We stayed 4 nights while exploring the old city of Caceres. Wonderful pool and lovely grounds. Great cafe and reasonably priced menu. We took cabs to the old city due to parking issues but the old city of Caceres is amazing, especially @ night when all the old buildings and churches are lit. Caceres is the cleanest city we've ever seen in Spain! Not one piece of litter or grafitti to be seen in the entire city (old and new). The landscape of Extremadora is breath-taking.
This is a generic business hotel. The facilities are tired, scuffed up, and worn out. Internet is very slow, often less than 200 kb/sec. The room air conditioning system could not cool down a hot south-facing room in October - I would hate to imagine what it would be like in the summer. The hotel offers very few amenities relative to the prices charged - no Kleenex in the room, no shampoo in the room. It had a desk, but no suitable chair for doing work at the desk (I had to bring in a plastic chair from the balcony). I don't recommend this hotel, and based on my experience here, I will avoid the Barcelo hotel chain in the future.
We had booked a Superior room and were delighted with the size of the room and the huge double bed. There was a nice balcony overlooking the pool where we could sit with a coffee brewed in the quality coffee machine. The bathroom was large, well equipped and clean with a double sink and a powerful shower. The reception staff were friendly and efficient and there were complementary drinks in reception. The pool was pleasant and clean and the loungers comfy and available. A real bonus for our stay. The walk into the old town was straightforward taking about 40 minutes and a taxi was under €10. We loved the old town and ate out every evening. We didn't eat at the hotel apart from a snack one afternoon which was very expensive. To summarise, a very enjoyable stay and a lovely hotel in a lovely town.
This a great value hotel with good facilities. The swimming pool and garden are well kept and an oasis on the hot days of Summer. There are Cabana type beds for hire with a bottle of Cava for 14euros . There is free fresh lemonade and cava in reception every day . We chose it as a base to explore from and it is well located for that. We got taxis into the old town as it was a little far to stroll down and back though we did do that too . The staff are outstanding helpful and friendly. They seem to work very hard but are always cheerful. We ate in the restaurant a few evenings after a long day . It opens at 9pm . The food is good specially the lamb chops and prawns . Local specialities are on the menu and there is a special offer four course meal which is very tasty but was far too much food for us even though the starters were sharers . It included a drink too. We bought wine each evening and had good Rioja for about 16euros . The bar is shaped like a ship and the lounge is comfy like home with TVs and fireplace and pool table. There are always lots of families about and it's very child friendly. Breakfast is good with wide choice including chocolate fountain and lots of cakes and fresh fruit. It's constantly replenished. One of us ordered fresh fried eggs which were done perfectly. The bacon is tasty , local sausages and cold meats and cheeses. The rooms are cooled with strong AC all day there are large beds and decent bathroom two sinks bath and shower. Decor a little run down but doesn't spoil the experience which is positive. We would definitely return to this hotel.
Very nice place, very comfortable bedroom and pool. I really like the wifi coverage in the swimming pool and the sympathy of the staff. Cáceres is a good place to visit with lots of historic buildings.
A fine hotel with excellent rooms and a nice pool. Friendly staff. It is a good walk to the centre of Caceres and It can be tricky to find if you are arriving by car. If you don't have Sat Nav plan your route carefully before arriving.
Lovely Hotel and stay/ group of 8 large rooms good pool and garden areas anther hotel were you take dinner in the bar and breakfast in the downstairs dinning room but no problem our waiters at dinner and in the bar were great fun with our little Espanyol and their English but soon sorted out any confusion out food was excellent we stayed 3 nights and the last night service was a bit slow but we were in no hurry so it did not matter/ the rooms are large and very clean no English channel on TV could annoy as we could not follow some of the news all in all we would love to return and see more of the area
