Leoneck Swiss Hotel

We enjoyed this hotel for our trip, BUT we were very annoyed to find that the on site parking listed on Orbitz was 4 single car garages, which were booked up. We would have happily booked this ahead if we had known, but no info was given. There was parking about 3 blocks away which cost 36CHF for parking 3pm Thursday to 9am Friday. the hotel is cute and comfortable, though our room had loud footsteps all night, I suppose from the stairway nearby. The location is fantastic to explore the city.

Place was clean, roomy, and comfortable with a friendly staff. Loved the location: could walk to old town or the train station in under 10 minutes, and the tram stop from the airport was right out front.

The hotel has a strong cow theme but overall was good.

Needed a nice place to stay close to downtown and train station to airport for a short layover. Super convenient, nice size room and bed for price.

Staff was awesome. Great location….Train stops right in front of the hotel. Walking distance to the city center. Best to stay on the 4th or 5th floor (so I was told by the staff when I called). She was very nice and switched my room from the 3rd to the 5th floor.

Comfortable, cute hotel. Very nice staff. Great location. The room for 4 was very comfortable for our family.

This hotel is located near the train station in Zürich Switzerland. You can either take the trolley, or walk, despite a rather uphill walk to get there. The room was very clean and had all of the amenities, including air conditioning, that is needed for comfort. The only down side of this hotel was the breakfast, that was included with the room rate. It was poorly presented and rather meager, as compared to other hotels of equal value.

great location for getting around all the tourist sites. everything is within walking distance. i was assigned to a renovated room. the hotel is under going upgrades that are quite nice

Perfect location, 5 minutes from main rail station and Old Town. We arrived by train with luggages, so we took tram # 10 to get to hotel. For the rest of the trip, we took the short cut, just walked down a few stairs, then across the Walchebrucke to get to main rail station for our excursions. The walk back up to the hotel was more challenging because of the steep hill but we took our time and it was totally doable. The room is very clean. The room facing the street is noisy because of the trams stop. Ask for a room away from the street for better sleep. The middle age gentleman at the front desk very intentive to the guests. We enjoyed his service very much.

The Leoneck is very reasonably priced and very clean. The staff is friendly. It is within walking distance of the hauptbahnhof and Zurich university.

The Leoneck had a decent/comfortable no-frills room, but the cable lineup is great (including channels from all over Europe). Location is excellent (central). However, I could not get my boarding pass printed as the business center computer was down and the desk staff would not print one for me from their computer. Also was surprised to find out that the ORB rate did not include breakfast, for which they wanted me to charge a "cool" extra SFr17. Be sure to check what's included...

Room was nice, but smelled old. they tried to place scented bags the closet to cover the smell. We not too bad, but I did notice. Over all I would stay there again. It was clean and had a great location, with the bus transfers. , just outside the front entrace of the lobby.

the cow theme was a fun thing. BUT the breakfast offering was NOT! walked for breakfast buffet, saw burnt bread, boiling your own eggs, and little selection of other things. BUT THE WORST thing was the $$$$. way too much. and there wasn't another place to eat for serveral blocks.

The locatin is excellent for viewing the downtown area. There is a tram stop just outside the front door. The decore is a lttle cheesy but would be fun for kids. "Cows" everywhere. Great for picture taking. The staff is friendly and very helpful. If you are driving a car this is not the best place to stay, the parking is far away and very skinny parking places.

nice and clean

The Leonid has a bar called "The Crazy Cow." That gives you an idea of the sense of humor the management has. The room was small but comfortable. There is a tram stop directly in front of the Leonid, which goes to the Airport. Very convenient for coming in and leaving Zurich. The ride was about 30 minutes. (It's a shorter ride on the train.) We bought all-day passes for the tram almost each day we were in Zurich. The all-day pass gets you on the tram, bus, train, even on the funnicular (basically a cog railroad) - pretty much any public transportation in Zone 10 (Downtown Zurich). Even so, we walked kilometers each day -most of it up and down hills. Bring walking shoes!

Flying into and out of Zurich, we stayed at this hotel twice. Each room was on the street side, and the first night in particular was very noisy, between the trams and people. Staff was friendly, helpful, very capably English speaking. Free internet available on limited basis. The hotel does charge $17 francs per person for breakfast. The location is about a ten minute walk uphill from the train station, but is also only a ten minute walk from the heart of old town, which has many shops, cafes, restaurants.

nice clean room. a bit small for 4 people. very quiet and good comfortable beds

Overall this was a good hotel. I love the location. It is very close to downtown.

I am used to American sized hotel rooms and I felt like Kramer just sold me one of his dresser draws for an overnight stay. Modern Euro-efficiency I guess. Perhaps the doubles are bigger... The TV had one english channel station CNN and a 17" screen. Friendly staff and once one "gets" the tram system its so easy to get around from this hotel. Good for a place to "crash" on a smaller budget. One more thing. Wake up call didn't happen, almost missed my plane.
