Recently we had an early flight out of Zurich so we decided to arrive the night before. Stayed at the Courtyard found the hitel to be modern clean and only two blocks from train station which made it one stop away from airport could not have been better. Highly recomend staff was great.
The Courtyard Zurich North is a short train ride from the airport and even shorter train ride to downtown Zurich. A very comfortable hotel with a nice onsite bistro. A fairly economic option in a very expensive city.
The Courtyard Zurich North Hotel was perfect for our stay where we just wanted somewhere convenient , clean and hospitable to stay. The rooms were clean, modern and stylish! We did not eat from the hotel as we were out from very early in the morning and came back late at night. There is complimentary tea/coffee making facilities, free wifi, ironing board and iron, and the bathroom facilities was lovely. The reception staff were very helpful with their local knowledge and advising how use the Metro and where to get off for our tours. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends who want to visit Zurich, Switzerland!
we stayed here in Nov 2016 for 2 nights and the location is very close to train station and which is 2 stops away from zurich main city center . The hotel is very clean and rooms are good and its a newer property . starbucks for coffee lovers is 2 doors away . The room rates were very reasonable for ZURICH . This hotel is between airport and city center . This property is THUMBS UP !!
Friendly hotel near Oerlikon train station and convenient for the airport as well as getting around town. Rooms are a decent size and comfortable with a good size TV showing international TV stations. The breakfast is a decent buffet although CHF22 for the continental and CHF30 for the "American" full breakfast is a bit steep. The dinner menu is a bit limiting. Very friendly staff throughout the hotel compensate!!
You should definitely stay here when you are in Zurich. A great 5 star hotel indeed, a very cozy and warm room as we were there during winter and a large bathroom. The best part is that it is very near the train station and some shops. I personally love the coop supermarket just next to the hotel cause it is cheap! Love, love the hotel!
Stayed here twice in 2017 so far. Very well presented hotel, with a good breakfast range. Decent gym. Great staff, always helpful. Excellent location in Oerlikon with trams and trains close by. Train from airport only takes 5mins and 3 mins walk from Oerlikon station to hotel.
If you are looking for a hotel to stay when you are in Zürich you have to choose the Courtyard Zürich North. You are just 5 minutes away from the airport and 5 minutes away from the city center. The Rooms are modern and spacious. The staff is extremly service orientated and the restaurant serves very good food. Extremly recommended.
Location! Walk out of the Arrivals doors at the aiport, cross the road and walk round the shopping centre areas to the SBB train ticket office. Take the train (probably S16 from platform 3) from the airport and the first stop only 5 minutes later is for Oerlikon station. Look it up on Google to get details/ visual. Oerlikon station has steps (and a lift) up to either side of the train tracks: one side is to the road with shops/trams (tram 11 is into central Zurich) The other side is quiet - this is the side you want to come out on and walk around the road as it bears to the right. Walk for another 4 minutes and you will see a large COOP store for fresh croissants, wine and just about anything else you can think of it also has a great little cafe and just near it is a cross roads with the hotel on the opposite corner. It really is a very simple journey even with a suitcase. This hotel more than met our needs. The room (517) was spacious and nicely furnished, comfortable super king bed; excellent walk in shower with both rain fall and hand held shower heads. Lovely clean shower wall panels. TV had UK TV channels (BBC1/ITV etc) as well as French/German/Swiss options. In the hotel lobby is a self selection of simple food/drinks you can buy and put in your room fridge. Or like me you can buy a stash of chocolate from the COOP pop it in your room fridge and then forget all about it when you leave! Our room over looked the road at the front of the hotel and was only noisy when we opened the window at night (instead of turning on the Air Con.) The external venetian blinds are controlled by a switch just under the key card electric holder slot - not very intuitive! Either there were no guests in adjoining rooms or the rooms were soundproofed. The reception desk staff were really friendly, and very accommodating. We did go into the restaurant one evening but left without ordering as it was more of a burger bistro place. We walked back to the train/tram stop and over the road to where there were several shops/restaurants near by including an Italian restaurant which was heaving with local people and served excellent food even though they weren't keen on the 2 of us sharing a pizza and salad! The tram/train network provides a great service for a very reasonable cost, there are ticket machines at Oerlikon station that can do 24hr tickets or longer, or you can go downstairs to the SBB office and they will help you get the right ticket. The ticket inspectors are fierce! if you don't have the right ticket you will be fined without exception I believe.
We stayed at this hotel last weekend for 2 nights, and while this was not our first, it is likely to be the first of many more in months to come. This is because the hotel's staff made it very easy and comfortable for us to stay there, welcomed us warmly after our most frustrating drive through just some 200km of highway, but sadly it was all a snail's speed drive. Serena is the face we'd most remember, as she was helpful even before we arrived there, going out of her way to help us with parking possibilities for our rented car. When we did meet her on the 2nd day, she was warm, professional and really helpful, including giving us tips on how to get to Zug (where we spent a glorious day, even if it is a highly expensive city), and return from there safely, in spite of having to traverse the center of Zurich. Sina was also helpful, but perhaps less forthcoming in her warmth, but on the second day afternoon, she lightened up and showed us why we should still keep our Marriott membership! Only downside, but sadly it is a 'mad' one, is the ridiculously expensive charges for parking. Nowhere in the world beats Zürich parking charges, even if practically all the car parks were essentially empty on Sat and Sun! Advice: when in Zürich, avoid the car!
