Hotel room and reception staff I stayed there for four nights Oct 26-30, 2017. The staff at reception requested a deposit of RMB 300 by cash or credit card to cover expenses incurred in hotel room, of which I thought was not necessary. However, the staff explained nicely that it is the policy of the hotel. Both the check in and check out procedures were smooth and efficient! While checking in, I noticed that the female Manager of the reception approached a customer sitting on the arm of the sofa. She requested him politely to sit properly in the sofa. Her attitude of keeping the hotel look grand really impressed me. On the second day, a hand written note from the Manager requesting my comments or complaints about the hotel room was on the desk of my hotel room . Her so doing made me feel she was serious to improve the standard of the hotel room. The hotel room was neat and tidy except the shower curtain of the bathtub was too thin unable to stop the water splashing out. The bell boys and the security staff were helpful and friendly. I told the security staff outside the hotel that I expected a tourist van returning a bag I left behind. He helpfully asked me its particulars helping me to identify the very van. Location There are many grand or small restaurants nearby, within walking distance. The Wall Towers, the musical fountains and the ever-bright city are close by.
I have to thank young lady "Sophia" at reception. Sophia has very nice smile. During my check in 5 th, oct. 2017, an issue occurred that prevent me to continue my reservation. Sophia tried to help me very much, give me a lot of advises, and asked me to return back. Thank you Sophia and all staff at reception. They are very good representation to the hotel. We arrived extremely late at night, tired and ready for bed. The staff were polite, efficient and quick. The room was spotless, quiet and well stocked with everything you would expect and a few extras that you can pay for. The best surprise was the fantastic breakfast buffet for 60 yuan (£7.50). It had everything Chinese and Western that you could want including fresh, made to order omelettes. We were really happy with our choice of this hotel. It is in the centre of Xian, so is a bit of a drive from the airport. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
I would have given 5 stars if beds haven't been so rock hard. Really, a rock hard. I tried to put pillows under the sheet but slept very porely. Otherwise hotel was great, very clean and comfotable. Room was very spacious. We ate great hop pot in the hotels restaurant in our last night, which was nice experience. Maggien in reception deserves to have a special star and thanks. She really is a treasure: speaks english, knows the city and guides you where to go and how to go. She arranged our day trip to Warrios in a minute in a hotel car. So thank you Maggie!
I changed my hotel at the last minute to this hotel because they had a pool. It was about location and a pool. I arrived here to find out their pool is out of commission. This hotel should have advertised that they don't have a working pool. Extremely disappointed because it's over 100 degrees or 40 Celsius here.
First hotel upon arrival to Xian. Comfortable, clean, friendly and courteous. Water, tea and coffee complimentary in room. Elaborate self serve banquet breakfast included. Excellent Hot Pot restaurant 2 blocks away.
We stayed here for 2 nights (16/17 May). After an exhausting train ride we were checked in by Maggie who is the Front Desk Manager. She asked us about our plans and offered advice about how we could make the most of our time in Xi-an. She sorted out cars and drivers for us. Initially we were worried about how much this would be but it actually worked out considerably cheaper than the prices on the many leaflets that we had been given at the train station when we arrived. We found Maggie extremely competent and friendly without being pushy. She also arranged our taxi for our departure and came to find us to finalise the times. Fantastic service! We had booked a Superior King room. This was spotlessly clean. There was a very comfortable seating area with a TV facing the sofa and another screen facing the bed. The bathroom was very clean. It was great to have a separate walk in shower and also a shower over a bath. There was no view from the window but we did not mind this as we didn't spend a lot of time indoors. The breakfast was more than adequate. There was a great selection of western and local food. The staff were very well trained and friendly. High levels of hygiene were apparent everywhere. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Xi-an.
Overall, we were very pleased with the Aurum. The staff was polite, efficient and helpful when asked for help. Most of the staff's English appears to be limited but adequate for the basics. Our room for 2, which I expected to be a little on the small side, was cozy, comfortable and quite adequate considering we spent most of our time sleeping or out of the room being tourists. Amenities: Closet, safe and fridge were all included and were in good repair. Bed was firm-kind of the norm for China. TV worked. Small desk had handy electrical outlets - I think that included a couple of USB outlets. The bathroom was like a Western one. I had a few good hot baths-plenty of real hot water. My wife thought the shampoo etc were below standard - you might not care. Hotel arranged for a car transfer from airport into town, and since we had an insanely early flight leaving a few days later, they got us a driver who got us back to the airport on time. We did not try the restaurant*** but it looked nice. The lobby was spacious, full of comfortable sofas and chairs and pretty attractive. Location: Good central location - in a very nice-looking business neighborhood about a 10-15-minute walk to the Bell Tower and Metro. Add about 5 more minutes for the Drum Tower and Muslim Street. ***if you stay here, consider trying this tidy little family-run restaurant about 2 blocks away (turn right out of hotel and walk about 2 blocks.
So we stayed here we arrived late at about 3am we got the night staff at reception all was ok until i paid my hotel room in full and asked for a receipt she rolled her eyes and loudly said GEEZ what more do u want. N i said well im not paying u 1295 yuan n not getting receipt so finally she did n lucky cause u need that to check out with but once again asking for a car to drive us to the airport same girl.same attitude lucky she booked it. The room was nice thats it,it was very HOT no ac after 6pm noone could give me an answer is to why this was the case but our room was grossly hot on the 12th floor n stuffy but then at 8am ac came on but then went off again at 2pm. Awful its summer. The food service though amazing and very helpful and booking a tour with maggies help was amazing and our driver also very good just the state of the rooms the night shift and late afternoon reception bad attitude bad service not nice at all.
We booked the standard room and were pleasantly surprised by the size and comfort. Although our room overlooked the main street the traffic noise was not too loud by bed time which was a great. Very clean with comfortable beds, helpful staff with enough English speakers that we didn't need to use our translation app. We did not eat in as the restaurants were a bit expensive when we are travelling for over twelve months and need to keep the cost down. Wifi was very slow, but that was the only drawback. Also laundry was very expensive - AU$7 for a pair of jeans. Close to the grand mosque, walking street, bell and drum towers.
