The design of the building looks different that you might expect. Just aesthetics, not a commentary on the building. I can speak only to the quality of the room -- clean, comfortable, ready when we arrived. We did not make use of the pool or complimentary breakfast. The vendor machines took credit cards, so as travelers without much cash, this was a good thing. Staff was courteous at check-in. We would stay here again if needed. Downtown is only a mile's walk away, which we did while we were visiting. The Chicago Metra Station is about 1.3 miles away. This is very convenient if you do not want to drive into Chicago.
Staff was friendly and room was clean. I didnt like that the walls are so thin that you could hear everything in the room next to us. You could hear people showering at 1am. You could hear the water running very loudly. We were also woken up by the noise of someone dropping something small right on the other side of the wall behind our bed. It startled us awake. Over all the room was nice.
The breakfast was good . There is a wine bar in the evening.

The worst experience in a very long time. Mildew in room, moist bed, and horrible smell. 10 fruit flies on the bathroom mirror. I do not recommend booking a king suit there, such a joke!
This hotel seems dingy. She told us the pool was open til 10 but lights off at 830. The bed and pillows comfort were horrible. If you just need a place to lay your head stay there. If you want a good nights sleep dont! They dont allow smoking yet the guy across hall was smoking and she couldnt do anything about it.
Bring your own pillows. Everything else was great.
