I went to check in and they said I didn’t have a reservation. Even with my confirmation number they didn’t have my name. Where is the money I paid??? No one knows. Expedia can’t help. I’m out the money I booked for a room.

Staff is pleasant and location is near central Woodstock. The hotel room has tile and linoleum flooring. If you walk around barefoot, you can feel cleaning product residue under feet. There was a cobweb in the corner of my room on the ceiling. The shower head in my bathroom was calified. There is a restroom in the lobby. The paper towel dispenser was jammed. There was a towel hanging on the back of the door and two rags on the counter. This gave me the heebie jeebies.

Hotel tried to cancel, Hotels.com had my back

They tried to cancel my reservation 3 days prior because they were overbooked. I told them I did not want to cancel and I had this booked over 3.5 months ago and was traveling from out of town.

It was awful. The room smelled like cigarette smoke. The hall smelled like weed. There was noise at night. There was maybe prostitution at the hotel. We slept and left as early as possible.

We didn't feel like it was clean enough. The floors were sticky and the tub/shower looked dirty. We had a barking dog across from us and a screaming child next door. It was a little difficult to find the turn in to get here.

The worst two nights

My room was a second floor walk-up. Bed type and bathroom were per reservation. Room was dirty, most lamps did not work, linens were extremely cheap and uncomfortable, bathmat was worn through. Vinyl floor throughout was sticky and the room smelled from incorrectly used cleaning supplies; additionally, there was no room cleaning service during my stay. Toilet plungers were left in the hallway outside my door. Breakfast had no coffee (the coffee maker was broken), limited cereal, no spoons. The desk people were not friendly when/if present.

Felt unsafe as there were people hanging outside the motel late at night and in the hallways. Perhaps it is also a welfare hotel and that is fine but please tell us upfront if it is.

We had to get our own toilet paper. We had to replace the light bulb in our room ourselves. On Sunday morning there was dog poop in the hall right outside our door. My husband told them at the front desk and we were told that when housekeeping came in they would take care of it. We returned over three hours later and it was still there. The juice machine at breakfast was out of order for our entire stay. The entry door nearest our room was never locked.

While the stay was uneventful problemwise, a copuple things, cleanliness is almost there, but there was sticky stuff on the lamp base and I have no idea what it is or where it came from and had to clean it. Marijuana use throughout hotel (its legal in illinois) but it was super pungent til you got to your room. You hear all sound in the halls through the door.

The folks working were polite. First room had not hot water and very little pressure, this was no surprise to the staff. We did get another room. Outside the window was a ladder, large pieces of broken glass from a window and garbage that remained there throughout our stay. Pop machine was empty and the snack machine was near empty. Came back to the rooms the 2nd day and nothing was cleaned, no fresh towels and coffee cups not replaced. had to go to the desk and ask for them She did bring up two towels, no wash clothes or hand towels and apolagized since they were not hotel towels.
