It was apparent that the my wait until the-check-in included the day staff doing something about their own check out (by the maids) for the day as I wait until I could check in myself. I checked in late and I was a bit chagrined at being made to wait until they had their schedules (I'm assuming rooms) settled, as well as several apparent several reservist active duty military being waiting to wait until whatever their room re-settlement had to be done. I checked in a day late but with guaranteed payment, and after the staff noticing finally my presence, looked at my reservation and after pointing out my dates, gave me the the room I supposedly reserved. I'm not sure whether my late check-in resulted in my presence at the elevator but it certainly resulted in late night overheard conversations next door that are worthy of novels. I did notice that there were several military reservists people at the check in that had a variety of confused residential that was resolved during my wait (which I was a bit focused on my own part at being former military myself).

The hotel smelled of cigarettes and weed. Room was really small. Definitely not worth $112. I'm so annoyed that I paid that much money for that hotel.

Room very unconfortable. Only 1 straight back wood chair. If you sit at desk, the other person cannot get by. No fitness center. Huge potholes in road to and outside hotel. We stayed four nights, housekeeping ok first two nights but weekend housekeeping half-assed. Saturday, dirty towels left in tub, no replacements Sunday, only one bed made, toilet paper not replaced, no drinking cups. Monday, no tip! And no return.

Next to Outback Stake House was convenient. The room was efficient and the bathroom big enough.

I've stayed at this hotel before while visiting family. Small negative things show a possible change of management which detract from previous stays (strong smell of smoke in elevator, maid service knocking on doors at 0830am and leaving notice to request maid service at the front desk if a do not disturb sign is up, "penalties" for checking out after noon, ice machine broken). However, the location is ideal, the rooms clean and quiet, and the price was reasonable. I still would stay here again.

What can one say? This hotel is immaculate. I've stayed here several times and the staff is phenomenal! This is close to everything you'd want to visit in Winston-Salem and the surrounding area. Outback Steakhouse is within walking distance. Whenever I'm in the Winston-Salem area I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. If you're looking for quality accommodations at a budget price, look no further. This is the place!

This hotel was awesome. Very good location. Beds were extremely comfortable. Staff was very helpful at all times. Great place to stay

The staff is nice and the breakfast is plentiful, will visit again next time we're in the area. The hotel is located close to the mall with easy access from major interstate and ideal for our purpose.

Room was clean and comfortable. Some might find room small, not a big deal for me. Just used room as place to sleep while visiting area for four days, so did not spend much time there. Breakfast is subpar but again, it is a very low cost motel.

Nothing fancy. Safe, clean, quiet. All I needed. Good stay

For the price, you can't beat this place. Great location, close to great restaurants, very comfortable bed, good nights sleep!

The room was very small (of course) and had no refrigerator or microwave. The lights were kind of weird. Bed was OK.

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and price was good. Great place to stay for long weekend. Complimentary breakfast had something for everyone. Only negative I have is the hallway smelled of smoke. Was not aware that smoking was still permitted in hotels. I did not complain nor try to have my room changed as my room did not smell of smoke. And I knew that hotel was booked to capacity.

It was certainly sufficient for my needs. I was visiting my son at college for the weekend and just needed a clean and comfortable place to sleep. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room is tiny, as the name suggests, but it was clean and fine.

The continental breakfast is good and have more variety than most hotel withthe same price. Comfortable bed although the room could be bigger but for a stopover it is adequate.

Short visit but good. The continental breakfast was cereal, juices and some stale muffins, but it filled the gap until we got into town. Some good restaurants nearby (Outback right next door) If you are looking for inexpensive lodging in a good location in WS, this is the place

I was placed in a HANDICAP room, why? I do not know. Huge shower chair had to be removed before I could shower. The wall behind bed all mirrors ( creeped me out- was it a two-way??) Lots of men standing outside in parking lot just talking. Incredibly noisy hallway all night long, people tromping up & down it. AWFUL>

Had never heard of Microtel brand until this stay as part of 4 hotels in different towns in 5 days while visiting colleges in Virginia and North Carolina. This was the 3rd night of the trip after 2 disappointing stays in other chains at higher prices. We had late check in and were tired from 2 college visits during the day. We were resigned to another possibly disappointing stay after our first two nights did not measure up to our expectations. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised: staff very friendly and quick and efficient for check in, room clean and refrigerator huge plus for traveling with fresh food (we don't eat fast food and are on tight budget), beds very comfortable great sleep. Finally, even though hotel parking lot very crowded with summer travelers, hallways quiet and minimal/no noise from surrounding rooms. It was the perfect place for a quick stay before we moved to the next college tour the following morning. The breakfast also is quick and basic to get you on your way to hit the next day hard. We have become new fans of the chain and booked a stay for the following night at another Microtel after our stay here. Strongly recommend it for solid value for budget minded travelers.

Nothing special but good for an overnight stay or a few days. Had a decent breakfast
