Here in Winnipeg for a business meeting. The facilities are pleasant. And even though the rooms and bathrooms are smaller than expected, they are well-appointed. Very pleasant staff. The bar and restaurant are quite nice.
This hotel is in the perfect location for visiting family in Fort Richmond or other neighbourhoods in the south Pembina area. The hotel staff made sure my daughter and I had adjoining rooms so that we could put an infant to bed early and have space to visit. The rooms are spacious and have a mini fridge for milk and yogurt etc. The hotel does not have a free breakfast but does have a restaurant that has a great breakfast menu. Unfortunately we arrived on the day of a big football game between Manitoba and Saskatchewan nicknamed "The Banjo Bowl". Fans were partying hard in the hall and in several rooms on our floor and another. The party noises plus the door slamming made sleeping impossible. The staff talked to them several times and they finally took the party elsewhere at 1 p.m.
Reuben with Kraut was great in room dining. Rooms are a bit cramped but works if you organize well. Bar is good with a couple of good ales. In fact very comfortable and a good restaurant. Around the hotel is pretty basic and this part of town is in redevelopment.
My husband is in a wheel chair, so we use accessible rooms when possible. This room was large, super comfy king bed and large bathroom with roll in shower. The hotel is very clean, with cozy bar and restaurant which we did not use. Staff are professional and helpful.
My wife and I arrived at this modest-looking hotel very hungry, and decide to eat at the restaurant. There was no one in the Dining room, and we were a bit nervous, but the meals were fabulous! The price was a bargain. I had Pickerel, a treat not enjoyed in 50 years, and my wife had a perfectly-prepared steak sandwich. The waitress was friendly, and the meal was ready in record time.Portions were generous. It was easily the best meal we had all weekend, and we visited some highly-rated establishments. Also, check-in was fast and efficient, considering we had the mis-fortune of arriving right after a busload of 30 boisterous football players. Our suite was lovely. Except for the fact that this place is a bit out of the way, it was perfect, great for anyone visiting the University of Manitoba.
All the staff at the hotel made us feel special and cared for. The rooms were clean and nice. The restaurant in the hotel had very tasty food with a wide variety. The pool also felt like a tropical escape. Our family was staying there because our grandparents passed away and the restaurant reserved a space for our family to have a dinner. They even customized the menus in remembrance of our grandparents. The team went above and beyond...and on less then a weeks notice. I have never stayed at a hotel (and I travel often for work) where the staff care for their guest and go so above and beyond. It is truly a special place.
THEY UPGRADED US TO AN EXECUTIVE ROOM WHICH WAS GREAT. WE HAD A GREAT SLEEP AND TOOK IN A GREAT GAME! The huskies won.... the place was clean and easily accessible. the rooms were great. There was probably lots to do but we were on a time crunch so just used the room for a good rest and easy access. The staff was awesome and very accommodating!
Only stayed one night but the hotel itself was clean and comfortable, well located off Pembina Hwy, close to the Perimeter Hwy. The pool hours were great for the kids as it was open until 10PM allowing us time to eat and get the kids to the pool - all too often we see such facilities closing at 8 or 9pm at other hotels which is really inconvenient. There was some sort of mixup with our booking where we had two separate rooms booked for all of us, and even though the hotel was full, the front desk staff were able to accommodate a room to allow all four of us to stay in one room - the main issue was the pull out bed which was completely unuseable - was surprised to see something like that in a hotel such as this - we ended up using a portable cot for one of the kids while the younger slept on the couch without the bed pulled out. Did not use any of the on site restaurants so cannot comment on those. Room was on the top floor and found the air handling system to be quite loud - not sure if this is consistent throughout the hotel or a result of the rooms proximity to rooftop units. We may stay here again if another trip to Winnipeg were to arise, but not if in a room relying on the pull out bed - apparently only one cot (was actually quite comfortable) in the hotel and if the pull out bed in our room is any indicator of those throughout the hotel it is not at all useable.
Easy to get to and very clean. The hotel is quite small but the staff are very friendly. We found it quite empty so had no problems in the bar or restaurant. Service was attentive. Good, free parking on site with a couple of restaurants within walking distance. Good business hotel.
Check-in was quick and easy, bed was super comfortable and room a nice size. We are in the restaurant for supper and had an excellent meal with simply amazing service. Will be our choice hotel for Winnipeg stays!!😊
