I stayed in this hotel March 15, 16, and 17th, 2018. My room was prepaid through Starwood at a rate of $400.90, taxes included. This charge appeared on my CC account early the day of my arrival at the correct time. Upon checking in, I was charged a $200.00 deposit, then a second $200.00 deposit, then $439.00 more for the room and then a further $439.00. MY CARD HAD HOLDS OF $1678.00 PUT ON IT FOR A 3 NIGHT STAY. When I called them, they said it would be straightened out in 3 to 5 business days. In 20 years on the road, travelling 150 days or more annually, this is the worst service, I have ever experienced. (Note: I am a platinum level member of Starwood).
During a business stay, the room was pre-paid through star-wood loyalty hotel program(Platinum card holder). On check in, there was a 200 dollar hold put on the credit card. Next a second 200 dollar again, for room deposits.. (1 room--3nights) Pre-paid amount was $400.90.. The card was charged $439.00 on check in. The card was charged a further $439.00, at some point. Total for 1 room, 3 nights, was $1678.90. When the Sheraton hotel was called they stated that any error made would be corrected in 3 to five business days, they did remove some of the charges but not with out bad grace. Watch your bill!!! The room was lovely. Travel for a living, never happened before like this.
Neat and clean hotel. Location is also excellent. Upto Sheraton standards. Business centre is lousy though. Old computer. Overall A real value for money. Excellent for business travelers. Good for family as well as they have nice small pool
The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. We were there with a team and they booked us all on the same floor. Very smart that way we did't disturb anyone else. The rooms were clean and the kids had fun in the pool. The only negative was the key cards were always demagnetizing so you would have to run down to get a new one.
Here in Winnipeg for a business meeting. The facilities are pleasant. And even though the rooms and bathrooms are smaller than expected, they are well-appointed. Very pleasant staff. The bar and restaurant are quite nice.
This hotel is in the perfect location for visiting family in Fort Richmond or other neighbourhoods in the south Pembina area. The hotel staff made sure my daughter and I had adjoining rooms so that we could put an infant to bed early and have space to visit. The rooms are spacious and have a mini fridge for milk and yogurt etc. The hotel does not have a free breakfast but does have a restaurant that has a great breakfast menu. Unfortunately we arrived on the day of a big football game between Manitoba and Saskatchewan nicknamed "The Banjo Bowl". Fans were partying hard in the hall and in several rooms on our floor and another. The party noises plus the door slamming made sleeping impossible. The staff talked to them several times and they finally took the party elsewhere at 1 p.m.
Reuben with Kraut was great in room dining. Rooms are a bit cramped but works if you organize well. Bar is good with a couple of good ales. In fact very comfortable and a good restaurant. Around the hotel is pretty basic and this part of town is in redevelopment.
My husband is in a wheel chair, so we use accessible rooms when possible. This room was large, super comfy king bed and large bathroom with roll in shower. The hotel is very clean, with cozy bar and restaurant which we did not use. Staff are professional and helpful.
My wife and I arrived at this modest-looking hotel very hungry, and decide to eat at the restaurant. There was no one in the Dining room, and we were a bit nervous, but the meals were fabulous! The price was a bargain. I had Pickerel, a treat not enjoyed in 50 years, and my wife had a perfectly-prepared steak sandwich. The waitress was friendly, and the meal was ready in record time.Portions were generous. It was easily the best meal we had all weekend, and we visited some highly-rated establishments. Also, check-in was fast and efficient, considering we had the mis-fortune of arriving right after a busload of 30 boisterous football players. Our suite was lovely. Except for the fact that this place is a bit out of the way, it was perfect, great for anyone visiting the University of Manitoba.
All the staff at the hotel made us feel special and cared for. The rooms were clean and nice. The restaurant in the hotel had very tasty food with a wide variety. The pool also felt like a tropical escape. Our family was staying there because our grandparents passed away and the restaurant reserved a space for our family to have a dinner. They even customized the menus in remembrance of our grandparents. The team went above and beyond...and on less then a weeks notice. I have never stayed at a hotel (and I travel often for work) where the staff care for their guest and go so above and beyond. It is truly a special place.
