Located in the heart of downtown, this split level one bedroom apartment inside a boutique hotel has a lofted bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, a spacious living room, clean private bathroom, a kitchenette with stove, microwave and mini-fridge, and a terrific city view. Enjoy historic charm, exposed brick walls, clean design, and modern amenities. The Stemmerman Suite honors Claus Stemmerman, the namesake of the hotel.

This charming lofted suite is located within the boutique and historic Stemmerman Hotel, and situated above a popular wedding venue, 128 South and Bakery105. Charm abounds from the well preserved victorian 1855 VonKampen building, which houses the hotel and venue.

The location is a short walk away from the famous Cape Fear RiverWalk, the farmers market, restaurants, bars, entertainment, museums, and nightlife.

The shared balcony has plenty of seating and has excellent views of the Cape Fear River, the battleship USS North Carolina, and the western horizon with magnificent sunsets. There is also a laundry room in the common areas.

It’s important to note that because this hotel is located above a wedding venue, there is the potential for noise on Friday and Saturday nights until 11pm. Also of note is that the bedroom can only be accessed via a staircase and is not handicap accessible.

We loved our weekend stay. We found an amazing restaurant at the end of the block. There were a lot of bars at the other end. The bed was super comfortable. There were a lot of stairs which was specified in the listing. The biggest downfall was the parking. There was nothing listed before booking about no parking so that was a surprise, however in the email the property manager sent prior to arrival it did let us know where free street parking was located about 5 blocks away. We ended up spending a pretty penny on parking alone. Overall everything was very nice.
