I am so upset by this entire experience. We booked a room with two double beds and were given a king — despite asking to move and being given a different room. There were very strong smells in all of the hallways — to the point where I started getting a migraine. We decided to inquire whether we could end our two night stay a day early and were told by the guy at the front desk that we could get a refund but would just need to wait until Monday for the manager to issue it. Hotels.com likewise assured me I could get a refund. Based on these assurances I booked another hotel (much more expensive) for our second night in Storrs. Hotels.com is now saying that the hotel owner is declining their request for a refund and are refusing to credit me for my second night’s stay despite assuring me that I would get a refund. A horrible experience from start to finish, all around.
