I find it hard to believe this is a three star hotel, because from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it was five star all round from the team. Our room was very large, with space for a dinning area, hot drinks facilities, a large wardrobe, safe box, t.v. and the bathroom was just the perfect size, and I lost count how many towels we had. And iron and board was available, which we had for a couple of days, and our laundry was always hanging up in our room when we got back. Breakfast was very good, the bar area was relaxing and as you step outside, one overlooks the river suir. Now, the team. I'm sure we encountered members of all departments, which made us feel very welcomed, but the two team-members we had more contact with were, Melissa and Jacinta. Wow. If you get the chance to stay here, you will understand why it's hard to describe excellence, and those two Ladies really do their best to deliver it. Nothing was too much trouble. I have stayed in some Fine hotels round the world, and even though the surroundings may have been oppulant, the team would lack the understanding of Hospitality. In this hotel, they've pinned it. I have stayed in a well know Hotel in Waterford city over the years, but now I will change my address to The Marina, when I'm here. I do hope the management are aware of these two team-members efforts towards their guest, and remember, Christmas is coming, give them a good bonus, it's because of the team I'll keep coming back.
I stayed for one night, receptionists where very friendly and happy to serve. Secure parking. The bar had good value food and again friendly service. Breakfast was really good, but service was a little disjointed. The room and bathroom was clean but basic (3 star). It had a small TV, and tea, coffee and biscuits but not much else on offer in the room or bathroom. Comfortable bed, pillows and good black out curtains.
I particularly loved our stay in this hotel, while it is commonplace for hotel staff to be hospitable i was astounded by how friendly the staff of the marina actually were. From reception to the housekeepers to the bar/wait staff i couldn't fault anyone, rooms were so comfortable and the food was delicious :)
Stayed in marina for 2 nites at weekend good location with secure free parking, room was spacious &clean with nice view of river suit, nice helpful staff ,about ten mins walk from city centre, only dislike was breakfast only average comparing to other hotels buffet style cereals yoghurt fry up served by waiter sausages not Cumberland as in menus,tea/coffee toast served almost instantly ,toast gone cold by time you get to sit down after getting fry up,best if left for 10 mins after having cereal, just our input others may differ, overall would recommend a stay here.
Stayed here midweek got a lovely room and a great rate from the receptionist jacinta who is lovely. On check in the staff were very nice and welcoming. We got engaged the previous night and they left us chocolates in our room which was a fabulous touch. The bar is lovely and cosy with a beautiful view of the river, the night porter Stephen was so nice also and gave us a glass of bubbly to celebrate our engagement. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again.
Lovely clean rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Can walk to everywhere from there. Amazing view over marina. Night time views were spectacular. Everything needed was in the room The staff couldn’t have been more helpful Nothing was to much trouble
We spent just one day here and our room was ready for us. They weren't overbooked like another experience we had in Maui at Paki Maui. (I wrote a review on it also). Staff was very helpful and answered our questions when we were wondering around like first timers do. Rooms were quiet and very clean. If you go to Ireland you must remember the facilities are a little different than in the U.S. for the most part, but everything still functions the same. We encountered no difficulties. All in all we had a wonderful stay.
We decided to stop off in Waterford en route to Dublin airport to head on our honeymoon, check in was literally 30 secs, receptionist was great, room with a view, wow and beds fit for a king. Lovely bar too
My visit to Waterford was memorable. The hotel staff were helpful and quite friendly and the room was clean and cosy. Quite Close to the Viking triangle and other attractions, this hotel is perfect for those who like to walk.
