We came to Waterford to ride the Greenway. We hadn't booked accommodation and found Dooleys to be in a prime location. Walking distance to town centre and Viking District. Lovely comfortable room and reasonable. Very handy if you are riding the Greenway.
Absolutely love everything about this place. Love the location. With it being in the center of everything. Staff: the staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful. Love the Irish Hospitality. The people at the front desk gave us recommendations and helped us plan our few days there. Rooms : Rooms were large and clean. The bathrooms were large and clean too. We stayed in a triple bedroom as we were three girls and we had plenty of room for our luggage as well. Breakfast : the buffet breakfast was fabulous! It had Irish specialities as well as other things. Fresh fruit and yogurt, cereal, bread... name it and it was there. Bar : the bar had live music the days we were there and it was nice to be able to enjoy a few Guinness and just walk upstairs to the room. Overall, if I ever go back to Waterford, Dooley’s is the place I would pick.
We stayed at Dooley's for one night and while it wasn't anything fancy, it really ticked all the boxes for us. It's conveniently located on the Quays, it has a long term car park for €4.40 for 24 hours right in front, the room was comfortable in all aspects, bed included. The rate we paid was good value for what we got. I definitely recommend it for a short stay.
We stayed in this hotel recently and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel has no parking on site but the long term public car park across the road is only 4.40 for 24 hours. The checking in process was quick and efficient despite the hotel being busy. The rooms were fresh, clean and the beds were comfy. The towels were changed each day we were there. The only complaint we had was they ran out of hot food on the second morning when it got busy. They eventually rectified the issue but it should not happen. The staff were very friendly and we would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again.
2 of us stayed here for the night, have to say i enjoyed the hotel.parked the car across the road in merchants quay carpark, 4.40 euro for 24 hrs which i think is good value. the hotel it self has lovely polite staff. our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is situated within walking distance of the city centre. had our lunch here and the food was good, also had the breakfast which is standard buffet breakfast. overall i'd stay here again if i was back in waterford city again.
This hotel is opposite the river. The rooms are very average and very stuffy. You can open the windows which does allow air flow. Breakfast is below average. They ran out of ham and jam during the breakfast service. The only jam they had was marmalade. The staff don't really care and just go through the motions. I would not even bother considering this hotel.
When we visit or pass through Waterford City we usually eat in Dooley's as the food is good & service fast. Recently we only required coffee & cake or biscuits. My partner & daughter enjoyed delicious edibles however I had nothing to eat. The only gluten free snacks were toast or crisps. Crisps with coffee ? I'm not even tempted thank you. Toast? Surely that is for breakfast not coffee time. Some years ago this was normal in Ireland but in recent years things have changed e.g.later in the day at The Grand Hotel,Fermoy there were a choice of gluten free cakes: In the Gallery Cafe in Ardmore,a quaint village, they serve delectable gluten free coffee cake & gluten free carrot cake:In Aline's cafe in Tralee they have huge gluten free cookies. Need I go on? I'm disappointed that an eating establishment I have often recommended to friends has to be ruled out if I'm not looking for a main course.
By the time I checked in, the room was nice. Clean and fresh. But, at the next day, after the housekeeper cleaned the room, I was really sad about it. I accidentally spitted red wine in my bed in different spots and they did not change the linen. I had to sleep in the bed with wine smell. Also, I was running out of toilet paper and there was no more in the room. I just had 1. Now, the breakfast was okay, I expected more. It was not a breakfast I would eat again.
Stayed in this hotel last night 11 November. The rooms were lovely and most of the staff where very friendly. Unfortunately the breakfast was cold. We went down for breakfast at 9.20 and everything from the sausages to the bacon was cold well luke warm I suppose. Very disappointing after a big night out the night before.
The atmosphere was electric in Waterford when we arrived due to Waterford being in the Hurling Final, was awesome to walk the streets and be apart of the action and history. Headed back to our hotel at half time to watch it in the bar. Lovely hotel, great staff at reception, porter, bar staff, restaurant staff. The room was okay, the carpet was super soft, felt the toilet was too close to the side wall, the shower was good. Food was great at the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again.
