Stayed here for a few nights with family. The hotel is in a great riverfront central location. There is parking across the street for only 4.40 euro daily. The Dooley's pub is attached to the hotel and is a nice lively little pub. The hotel seems rather historic and is in good condition. The rooms and washroom are clean. It is street front so there is a Bit of noise outside, though not enough to bother us.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of our Shearings tour, 34 of us in total. We received a very warm welcome. My first impression of our room was that it was very tired and in need of a refurb, but it was clean and the beds were very comfy- our room had a single and a double so we spread out. What really made it such a good stay was the quality of both breakfasts and evening meals and the efficiency of the really lovely serving staff who were all cheerful and made looking after not just our group, but 2 other large parties , seem effortless. The hotel is conveniently located on the Quayside, being a 5 minute walk to the town centre and ten or so to the Viking Triangle and Waterford Crystal. I'd certainly stay again if in the area.
Stayed here for a business trip recently. The rooms were clean, if a little dated, but the welcome and breakfast were lovely. There was quite a lot of noise from the street outside though, so not the best night's sleep. Overall very pleasant though.
Good hotel, very clean, nicely located for sights in Waterford. My curling iron did blow a fuse in our room but think that a personal problem! Nightime outside the window very interesting when the Pubs close, lots of activity very late.
Stayed for one night August weekend . had not prebooked just went in and enquired. lovely hotel very comfortable rooms. had live music in bar and although we had eaten before arriving food looked lovely and was very busy. staff were very nice in bar and reception. parking straight across road so very handy. waterford is a lovely city there was a spraoi festival on so lots of street entertainment. they have all main shops Penneys. Debenhams. Dunnes, New Look etc so good for shopping. breakfast was nice lots of choice and plenty of it. free wifi .felt was a bit steep at €199.00 for three of us for one night but had not prebooked and WAS long weekend. Also a swimming pool would have been handy for my 13 yr old. overall I will return to waterford and would stay here again
Arrived for a night away, staff were very friendly, hotel is clean but the room we stayed in needs updating,i was very annoyed as given a family room which was at the back of hotel and we were woken by noisy delivery trucks and bin collections at 5.40 am which is Ridiculous given our room location and i couldnt get back to sleep, food was ok served by nice and friendly staff, breakfast was self service and a nice variety.
If you are looking for a central location in Waterford and if you are happy with very clean and comfortable but rather dated, Dooleys is well worth considering. We stayed for one night on a room only basis. The room rate was fair for one of the older style rooms. For one night this was an ideal spot. Parking is easy, directly opposite the hotel in a public, pay and display car park. Choose Merchants Quay entrance because it is the closest and a couple of the other car parks nearer town are a little more expensive. My even better ifs would be.......to ask patrons to stop smoking directly outside the hotel entrance. The smoke wafts up to first floor rooms and is really unpleasant if you have the window in your room open. I would also have liked a better hairdryer. The wall mounted 1980s style box dryer was very bad news for my hair!! I left in a rather frizzy mess! Seriously though, we would happily stay here again if we were in the area. Really easy access to town and places of interest.
This hotel bar in Waterford Ireland is outstanding for their bar specials. We enjoyed a bowl of seafood chowder that is equal to Legal Seafood in U. S. The roast pork with mash was flavorful with a savory gravy and root vegetables. We enjoyed Baileys coffee for dessert only because we were to full for anything else.
On a very rainy day, stopped here for sunday lunch. A delicious roast beef carvery which was great value for money. Definitely recommend a traditional Sunday lunch here. A huge dinner which we struggled to finish. Plenty of fresh vegetables and roast beef.
We spent one night at Dooley's. Very nice place. Clean rooms. Very fresh. Very Nice people Close to anything you would like to do. Waterford Crystal, The famine ship. Many pubs and restaurants. We walked the town enjoying the people and great food. And of course the Guiness.
