Pool water was excessively warm, restaurant wouldn’t allow us in with swim clothes. Limited options. Positive is the mall is close by

Beach access nice and not overcrowded. Staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet good.

Very nice property. Great pool. Enjoyed the ocean equipment rentals. Nice restaurant. Definitely attend the Island orientation briefing the morning after your arrival. Excellent presentation with great ideas for tours. But some of the concierges are a little over the top about selling stuff--apparently the big money maker is professional family photos. If you want one--perfect setting. But if you don't--walk away.

The property here is unbeatable! It is situated on beautiful A-Bay beach with anchialine ponds separating the beach from the hotel property. These ponds are fascinating and must be viewed several times during the day as the tides change. There are walking/running paths throughout the property, The pool area is nicely laid out and was never too crowded. If you walk down the beach a very short distance, you will be at Lava Lava Beach Club, a very popular, toes in the sand restaurant. My favorite morning activity is to walk along the beach paths that are carved out on both sides of A--Bay. We found the staff to be very welcoming and efficient. We stayed on both sides of this property. The hotel rooms are not huge, but are nicely furnished with large, updated bathrooms. We also stayed in a one bedroom on the Ocean Club side. It was spacious and was beautifully furnished. If you want to really cook however, the "condo" is not ideal as there is no cooktop or oven and the counter space is limited. There is a fun BBQ area though, so that helps. We have stayed at several properties on the Kohala Coast, and this is my favorite. Not only due to comments above, but you can walk to King's Shops right across the street or to Queens' Shops just a short distance away. Both of these areas have shops, and a variety of eating options including the Island Gourmet where you can pick up just about anything you want.

Beautiful grounds Friendly resort employees Not sure why I can’t move to next question

Pool area is perfect! Close to the beach. Food isn’t great though. And they only have 1 or 2 servers in the pool area at a time so it takes a while to get drinks unless you walk over to the bar yourself.

The crews are really accomodating and they are smiling all the time. Very good hospitality.

Great Hotel, it had a lot to offer, very close to many local shops and just a few feet from the beach.

Booked resort view and we were pleasantly surprised, as we ended up on the second floor looking out to the pools and ocean beyond. Staff was friendly, and even though we were there during the holiday season, the resort wasn't crazy busy to the point where one couldn't find lounges by the pool. Took advantage of the partial day rate to keep the room until 8:00 pm as were had a late flight out. One thing to note is that if you arrive later in the evening, as we did (11:30pm), there will not be any food or beverage options available, as even room service ends by 10:00 pm. As with any property, if you do your homework beforehand, there shouldn't be much, if anything anything to be surprised about such as parking, resort fees, etc.

We had a view straight out to the ocean through several palms. We could enjoy it from our deck. On the downside, construction went on right below us, so it was noisy all day.

Stayed at this resort 18 years ago and it was great then . I expected it to have gone “downhill” over time , but was VERY impressed ! Many upgrades !

Great location. Lots things to do and nearby market and some great restaueants.

Beautiful Beach, Friendly Staff! Didnt spend too much time at the hotel but would recommend to friends and family.

Friendly staff throughout hotel. Restaurants in hotel were very good.

Wonderful and a lot of activities but enterprise rep horrible. Wonderful swimming for kiddos.

We overall enjoyed our stay and most staff are friendly and they are willing to do anything to help. Pricey internet package which wasn't used including movies and games.

We have stayed here 3times now and we love it more every time. They are doing construction right now. For us it was not an issue but the day we were leaving it looked like they were going to start with the terrace part of construction. The terrace is our favorite place to sit and relax on the big circle cushion chairs, so this would have been very disappointing for us had our trip been longer. Most of the time you could not hear the noise by the pool. It was pretty easy to ignore. Another guest I spoke with in the elevator and I both agreed that the construction was worth the fact that there were not a ton of people around. I would say it was less busy than the last two times we stayed here, although it never seems that crowed. We have always been able to find a spot with chairs by the pool. We can't wait to go back and see the finished constuction.
