Great experience. Irena communicated very well in advance of our check in and was responsive in answering all of our questions. She worked hard to make sure our check-in and arrival as well as our stay went smoothly. No parking fee and no resort fees! Condo was quiet we did not hear the neighbors at all. I do think many units were empty while we were there in early May 2019. Stairs and elevator available to get to 2nd and 3rd floors. Condo is spacious. Large master bath with tub and separate walk in shower. The balcony is huge! Fully appointed kitchen, washer/dryer. Cable TV and unit is stocked with board games and books. Wish I could have stayed another week to just relax after all the sight seeing! Enjoyed our stay and was a good value.
We had booked G206 for 12 days and were contacted 3 days before arrival that our unit needed repairs and we needed to take a different unit -- this one was on the 1st floor. We had stayed in Vista before and knew that the 1st floor units had very little privacy so we asked if there were others we could choose from on the 2nd or 3rd floors. They told us we could have B202 but only for 8 nights and then, assuming G206 was fixed, we could move there for the remaining 3 nights. We figured a move after a week wasn't too bad so we agreed. B202 was very nice, great kitchen, very comfortable lanai furniture, and comfortable beds. It was very close to the pool so somewhat noisy and not much of a view from the lanai but also close to the bbq area. The day before we moved, we checked with the office about G206 and were told that it would be available. However we were also told that checkout from B202 was 11 am and check-in to G206 was 3 pm (as if we were just arriving at the property). We said we needed to be able to move our stuff, including food in the refrigerator at 11, but that we would be gone for most of the day so wouldn't interrupt any final repair/cleanup work that was needed in G206. The person in the office grudgingly said that would be OK. After moving into G206 we realized how lucky we had been to get B202 for the first 8 nights. G206 is a much lower quality unit. The bed was very uncomfortable, lanai furniture was awful, and second bedroom (which we didn't use) had only sliding doors between it and the dining area which might be fine for kids but pretty awful if you were staying with another couple. It did have a better view than B202 (over the golf course), however the sprinkler system ran all night long outside the bedroom windows and the groundskeepers started in mowing about 5:30 am. It is definitely worth checking out reviews of specific units before booking.
Stayed in A202. The condo is extremely well appointed, stocked like no other I've ever stayed in, beautiful view, very silent from neighbors (give exception to grounds maintenance as the grounds are beautiful and they must work during your stay to maintain the beauty), the 2 lanai's are spacious and well appointed with a couch, coffee table, swivel chairs, and the other with dining table for 6. The condo looks designer complete and we wanted for nothing aesthetically or materially. The views are beautiful and calming. The owner could not be more gracious and attentive. Lots of room all throughout the condo and it feels like home vs a sterile condo. Very warm and inviting. I am looking to come back soon, I hope.
Stayed at Vista Waikoloa for 5 nights, overall a good experience but it has some needed attention. Pros: The condo we had on the 3rd floor had a great view, perfect for sunsets. Condo was clean and well stocked but a bit outdated. You can walk to the to beach and shops from here and there were beach chairs and boogie boards available for use. Large open floor plan was perfect for our family. Cons: Ice maker broken. Toilet squealed all night and day until you flush it. Shower heads need to be replaced. Noisy area, lots of tile work and roofing during the day felt like staying in a construction zone. Front security gate was gone on the entrance side! But exit side still had the gate? Overpriced for what you get, other condos in the same area with similar price are much more updated and quiet. Great location though for golf and you can walk to Tropics bar and grill and the Hilton hotel. BBQ area was nice, pool was clean. Would look at other options before staying here again but overall we enjoyed our stay for the most part.
DC the front manger is the worst! She was extremely rude and kept accusing us of taking/breaking things that were already broken. We stayed in. 2 bedroom condo with one room having 2 twin beds. The beds were disgusting! We found a few bugs on the bed and floor. The sheets were dirty and same with the blankets and they were extremely rough! the room needed a serious update!
We have visited Vista A301 for the last 4 winters, as we just left after our stay in March 2018. The property is exemplary for the following reasons: The owner is EXTREMELY prompt to answer any question or concern you may have although there have not been many issues. Secondly the property has been updated and is first class in all respects of appliances, hard surfaces, flooring cabinets and bathrooms. Thirdly, the ocean view from the large lanai is outstanding as well as the large glass areas of the condo allowing unobstructed views from inside the condo. We have stayed in other properties in the area and A301 is far superior.
Your individual condo experience will vary by owner, but overall this complex is very nice. All of the condos seem to have great lanais that are perfect for morning coffee/breakfast or a sundown drink. The pool is very nice and was never overly crowded. The grounds are well kept and each condo seems to have its own parking space. The gym was sufficient. The BBQ grill area was very nice. The location is great as it is walking distance to the Hilton (5 mins), preservation pond & sunset lookout (5 mins), Marriott (10 mins), King & Queen Shops (10 mins). I would stay in this complex again.
We recently stayed here in Condo G206. We had been spoiled for 7 days staying in at the King's Land Hilton. Friends had talked us into renting a condo for the remainder of our stay on Big Island. If you are looking for a condo to rent for a family then this is plenty big but it was almost too big for 1 couple. We were only staying for 5 nights so this was more than enough. It has a cottage feel to it. The building is 30 years old and hasn't been updated much. There is a new stainless steel fridge but everything else looks original. The master bedroom king bed was comfortable. We made the best of it and took in a local beach and shopping. The maintenance people were very unfriendly which surprised us for Hawaii. We didn't encounter that anywhere else. My husband payed a cleaning fee so needless to say I didn't leave a tip which is unusual for me! Staff are very friendly though at the office and are very accomodating. On the plus side the unit has lots of Toilet paper, towels and soap.
We were originally booked at the Hilton Waikoloa next door but a few weeks prior to our stay we had a change of heart and started looking for Condos. We're so glad we did! The Hilton turned out to be huge, with lots of amenities but it was almost like staying in a Vegas resort. Difficult to soak up any Hawaiian atmosphere. We rented B103 directly with the owners. Obviously these are privately owned condos so decor and condition will vary from condo to condo but ours was excellent. They are around 1250 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an open plan living area. Outside there is a wraparound balcony or patio that extends outside the living room and master bedroom. There is a nice, quiet pool deck with a large pool and two hot tubs. There were usually only a couple of people there so it was very peaceful. The resort also has a small Gym, BBQ area and workstations to use. Vista Waikoloa is broadly in the middle of the Waikoloa resort area. Walking distance to A-bay (Although Hapuna beach and Kua bay were better, and worth the 15 minute drive in our opinion) and both the kings and queens shops were only 10-15 minutes walk through the resort area. Kona s around 30 minutes away. There is a Costco, Target and Walmart which are worth a visit if you're planning on eating in, or even for packed lunches and snacks. If you have time, don't miss a trip to Hilo. Its really not far at about 90 minutes by car and the scenery is a total contrast to the more barren Kona side. Volcano national park is another 40 minutes from Hilo but well worth it. Vista Waikoloa is a wonderful base for a quiet peaceful stay in spacious accommodation. Its centrally located and easy to see almost any part of the big island in a day trip.
Had a ground floor unit in Vista Waikoloa. It was lovely, great location and a ton of amenities (beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, mats, beach towels). Great wifi, close to shopping, beautiful setting. Found on VRBO, but rented through Waikoloa Realty (A104). Loved everything except the location. As a ground unit, there was noise. Really like the communication from the rental Realtor and felt very pleased with the communication. In hindsight, would have booked the Shores instead of Vista as it is more secluded from road noise, but we were gone most days anyway and it was a little closer walking distance to the beach. Great unit, just do not like ground floor.
