6 of us stayed here last week. The house is beautiful and located in a very quiet area about 10 minutes outside Volcano National Park. The lush 3 acre property is full of beautiful native plants and birds as well as some other cute animals. There are also outside porches which wrap around most of the house with several seating areas. The inside of the home is straight out of a magazine! Beautiful wood floors, granite counters, comfortable seating areas, a gorgeous fireplace (which we did use), and 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two bedrooms are large (not sure if Queens or Kings) and the 3rd bedroom has 2 twins. There are two bookshelves which have a variety of books to read and/or games to play. There is also a variety of cookbooks in the kitchen if you want to make your own food. The only note to make is that Google Map does not like the address of this house. So if you stay, please make sure to write down the directions and the caretaker's phone number in case you get lost. We didn't have either and drove on some VERY dark dirt roads trying to figure it all out. If you have the chance to stay, I don't think you will be disappointed. It is truly a lovely and peaceful place. And the delicious loaf of homemade bread left with us with a nice extra treat!

This was a lucky find for us. They had a last minute cancellation so we booked the week between Christmas and New Years in November. We weren't sure about the location..far from everything but if you want a unique Hawaii experience this is it. The house is incredible...everything is very high end. well stocked and designed kitchen, big bedrooms, beautiful living room and incredible views from every room. The furniture is incredible..wood floors and stone throughout. Most of the sun is on the Kona side and it was cool and rainy while we were there but that made the experience even more authentic. Went to the volcano, green sand beach, black sand beach which are all a drive from both sides of the island.

This is an amazing place to stay and I would highly recommend it. It is a beautifully furnished home in the middle of a rainforest with every conceivable thing you could possibly need. The views from every room are unbelievable. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked. Sharon greets you upon check-in and provides a tour of the home, along with a loaf of delicious banana bread. When we go back to Hawaii, we will stay here again.

I have never stayed in a house so well furnished! They had everything we possibly needed and more. The house was very clean. The beds were very comfy! I didn't want to leave. The house and grounds were beautiful. We absolutely loved our stay here. Although there were houses in the area, the grounds were so lush and beautiful, you wouldn't know you had neighbors. I would rent this house again if I have the opportunity to return to the Big Island!

If you are looking for a wonderful home to stay while visiting the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park area, look no further. My family of 5 (kids 16, 14, and 10) plus my mother had a fantastic time staying here. The home is beautiful, spacious, and relaxing. Every member of my family had their own space. The home is furnished so beautifully! Sharon greeted us with a warm welcome and gave us an introductory tour of the home (and a delicious loaf of banana bread that everyone speaks of). My favorite space is the back lanai! I could sit there for hours listening to the sounds of the rainforest. The home is stocked with any essential you can think of, including binoculars for the Kilauea Crater. My daughter left a stuffed animal behind, and Sharon was very prompt in replying and is mailing it back to us in NC. I would like to return to this beautiful area and would definitely stay at the Volcano Rainforest Lodge again. I recommend 3 nights at least, as our two night stay wasn't quite long enough. Thank you Rob and Sharon!

Sharon was a wonderful and attentive host who also greeted us with a warm smile, tour of the gorgeous home and a delicious loaf of her homemade macadamia nut/banana bread. This home surpassed our expectations and got our vacation off to a fantastic start. We hope to return on our next stay to the big island and can not recommend it highly enough to those considering a stay. You will not be disappointed!

Beautiful and spacious. Great appliances and furnishings. Very close to Volcano National Park and centrally located to visit most of island. Excellent property to just relax. We had ample space for family of five with teenagers. We all had a different sections of house with our own Kuerig! Video security system too. Our only wish would be for better wifi.

Our family of 4 stayed at this wonderful location. Many to choose from and this one is the best. This home has everything you can think of for any family. Highly recommend staying here. We will come back again very soon. Thank you for the amazing hospitality. Just to say a few reasons on why this is a great location one it is peaceful, relaxing, close to many attractions, the home, and landscaping are amazing, and well kept. The owner takes much pride in this home. I can go on and on. If you want to discover Hawaii this is a great way to do so.

Sharon took great care of us. She made us the most amazing breakfast ever. Construction was completed earlier this year so they probably have not had a lot of reviews because they are new. They have thought of everything. The woodwork is amazing. The location is about 2 miles from the entrance to Hawaii Volcano National Park. A trip to Hilo is a must as well. They have the best farmers market. The produce and coffee on this island are amazing.

I highly recommend this lodge for those who would like to see the Kilauae restless Volcano in Hilo. It is a short drive from this property. The owner's Rob and his mother Sharon are very good. Sharon provided what we needed for breakfast the next morning. This place is very neat and peaceful. If you cannot hire the whole property you can hire part of it. It has a standrby generator and more you will need.
