Great stay

This was a great home base for exploring the NP! Home was beautiful with many thoughtful touches. Loved the hot tub after a day hiking! Highly recommend staying here.

Fantastic Stay

A wonderful private rain forest get away. Conveniently located on the south part of the island. Very clean and had everything we needed.

We loved this hale in the rainforest. It was a great base for a group of 5 adults to access Hawai’i Volcanoes NP and explore the east side of the island. We made use of the hot tub nightly and were lulled to sleep each night by the coqui. Highly recommend!

Great location for a volcano visit

The house is very cute and close to Volcano National park. We didn't have that much extra time, otherwise would have loved to enjoy the outdoor fire pit and hot tub while listening to the sounds of the jungle.

Amazing weekend getaway

Amazing accommodation and excellent hosts! Had everything we needed to feel comfortable for our family (crib and high chair for our 1 year old daughter) and close to all the attractions. The hot tub and outdoor fireplace were a nice touch in the chilly evenings. Thanks for the wonderful stay and accommodating the early check-in and late check-out!

Perfect Big Island Escape

This rainforest retreat was exactly that. We felt like we were transported to another world in this beautiful rainforest. We loved hanging out under the pavilion by the fire and in the lovely, Hawaii home. The owners even let us check in a little early and provided s'mores to cook over the fire.

Lovely Volcano Retreat

The property was just as pictured. Clean and quiet nestled in a beautiful surrounding. The hot tub and fire pit were a perfect evening retreat after a day of Volcano exploring! Our family very much enjoyed the stay!

Mini retreat in the rain forest

We thoroughly enjoyed this little retreat in the rain forest! Our family of 5 enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub after a day at Volcanoes National Park. Would love to stay longer!

Great Volcano House

The Rainforest Retreat is a perfect location to explore the Volcano area. It’s comfortable with fun amenities. We had a fire each night and they had s’mores supplies that we throughly enjoyed! We would definitely stay again!!!

Wonderful House in the Rainforest

We had a great stay. The wood stove was great on a rainy Volcano day. The hot tub was also wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked and all three bedrooms were comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time we are in Volcano.

I'd give this a "5", but I just don't do that unless it's way beyond my expectations! Communicating with Christyn couldn't have been better. We had a couple of minor issues that she addressed immediately (the microwave died while we were there, and she had one delivered that afternoon)! The location was great with regard to proximity to the park. The hot tub was great, and the pavilion was super nice. This house is rustic but not icky (I've stayed at rustic and icky VRBOs, and this was not one of those)! The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils, pots/pans, etc. that you would need. This was an excellent VRBO experience.

Gorgeous!

Loved this place! My son calls it the “jungle house” and it’s indeed a good place to be in nature! So peaceful, worth the drive for sure. Beds were comfortable, clean, and the hosts were quick to respond with any questions. We would absolutely come back!

Truly the perfect jungle getaway

We stayed here for five nights on our honeymoon. It is only about fifteen minutes from Volcano National Park, and the property itself has many great amenities. We found it clean, beautiful, and private without being too isolated (it's only a couple minutes from the highway). Caleb and Christyn were great hosts --kind, communicative, and thoughtful. I highly recommend this Rainforest Retreat, and hope to return someday!

The place was clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable. Hot tub was close and convenient. We used the hot tub daily. Very close to Volcano National Park. Full kitchen (there are few dining options nearby). Secluded and off a gravel road. The towels had an off smell.

Perfect Volcano Getaway!

What a beautiful tropical property, hidden in a perfect location to visit Volcano National Park! We enjoyed our short visit immensely and found everything to be comfortable, convenient and most welcoming. We stopped at the Hilo Market and grocery store and stocked up for breakfasts and found the kitchen to be very well stocked. Communication with the owners was excellent- what more can you ask for?!

Beautiful home!

This is a lovely house and despite the torrential rain while we were here we stayed snug and warm with the awesome wood stove. The hosts are very accommodating and responsive
