Perched above the Pacific the Sheraton makes the most of its clifftop location. The offering in terms of rooms is fairly standard for the chain in terms of rooms and restaurants, but work well in this (fairly) remote location. The staff were unfailingly polite and engaged. SPG platinum status recognised.
What a hotel !!! Breathtaking views! This sheraton brings up their standard to luxury .Exquisite rooms , stunning views, slow service at the bar but definitely made up for it at their restaurant , 5-star dining at its best , well-priced wine list . From restaurant Director to his servers all smiles and great service . This place changed my mind about hotel food !
The hotel is having the best view we ever had - there is just the ocean infront of you! It is an usual business hotel. The front desk staff is friendly, but snobby. Someone should tell them that the guest are more importent then they are. Maybe it would help. The bar and restaurant staff is super friendly, fast, nice and professional. First hotel in Chile, where we have got a good breakfast. Good restaurant. Our room was big, bright, clean and comfortable. Nice pool inside, good massages. Parking a bit far away, but there was a small shuttle whitch sometimes brought us to and from the car. Our son just loved it.
We stayed three nights and loved our room. The hotel itself didn't have a lot of personality. The selling point is the location and the view. The room was clean and the staff was nice, although not as friendly and welcoming as other hotels we stayed in while we were in Chile. We did enjoy two good lunches at the restaurant.
Best view in Vina for sure, all rooms have excellent views of the ocean. The outdoor area and the pool are also fantastic. Service is average at best for how expensive it is, and this is South America not Europe. I found people that work there to be very snobby and judge-y about guests' appearances. I am a platinum member so I'm entitled to use the Platinum Check-in line. However, I was told to please move lines as the line I was standing on was only for platinum members. I assume the front desk made a judgement based on my appearance, a young guy wearing athletic shorts in a beach town, how could he be a Platinum Member?. I stayed there for business while I worked at a nearby Oil Refinery and had to wear coveralls and I got starred at every day, basically as not worthy of staying at their hotel. Vina doesn't have many hotels, but this should be an OK option for a few days, at most 3. My recommendation for anyone staying in Vina for a long period of time, 2-4 weeks, is to get an Airbnb and avoid the high cost and snobby unwelcoming attitude. Also, the hotel doesn't have a lounge, parking is far away, and rooms are small.
Besides its location right in front of the pacific ocean, this hotel is quite away from the international standard you may find in other 5 star hotel in the region. Examples: (1) the parking area is far away from the lobby - despite there is a "golf style" shuttle that runs sometimes - you will need to figure out how to carry your own luggage. (2) can you believe that they offer complementary coffee only for the first day of your stay? They don't refill coffee sachet! (3) I'm gold both in Starwood and Marriott so I asked about executive lounge... Guess what, they told me that there wasn't one because they didn't consider that when they built the hotel. (4) staff was kind but they need improvement (no coffee spoon when setting the table). Breakfast was fair despite ham didn't look good.
Beautiful hotel next to the sea, we stayed there to relax on the final day of our trip. Got it with a discount, If you like nice hotels with indoor and outdoor pools, free wifi and a nice restaurant this is a good choice.
I stayed there because of a business convention and they chose the best hotel in the city. Certainly the most impressive thing of it is the view, right over the ocean. It doesn´t matter which room you stay in, you´ll have a great view. Sheraton Miramar has all the services expected for this kind of hotel: restaurant, bar, good gym, great spa, pool, indoor pool; but I think the rooms need a bit of an update. When you close the curtains at night they seem brown and dark. As I said I was there for a convention and this was the origin of one of de main problems I had in the hotel: in at least 2 ocassions the food they had for lunch just wasn´t enough for everybody. I know this wasn´t problem of the organisation, but of the hotel underestimating the quantity of food for big groups. They didn´t react quickly either to solve the problem. The hotel is kind of isolated in the curve of an avenue that connects the city of Viña del Mar and Valparaiso, but if you walk 20 minutes you reach to the street where most of the restaurants in Viña are located. It´s not easy to get a taxi in the street, so for further distances you have to ask for a taxi in the hotel.
We were assisted by a very wonderful young lady at the front desk, after an all night flight and a long ride. We were early for our room check in but the room was ready and we were allowed to check in. Our traveling friends' room was not yet ready but we were advised that they would notify us as soon as it was ready. She found came and found us on the patio to advise us that their room was now ready and they moved them to the adjoining corner room. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The corner rooms have great views of the bay and the two cities. The hotel is on the water and not a far walk from the city and fabulous restaurants. There is an ATM in the hotel that starts out with instructions in Spanish but switches to other language choices.
We visited here in the fall in Chile. I suspect this is more of a middle of summer type place with the pool and outdoor seating. The place is high quality as expected. Room 803 provides dramatic views of the Pacific and the cities surrounding. That is if there isn't fog rolling in. Staff was excellent. Easy to walk to some restaurants and the casino. The location does not put you in the middle of the action.
