This hotel looks old, dirty and badly painted. When entering you will notice old worn out sofas in the lobby. My first shock was at reception desk when they told me my reservation for a ocean view room, was indeed for a very partial view, at the corner of the hotel. Bad, but ok we get here after a tiring trip and didn't wanted to argue. The room was spacious with a nice terrace facing "the city", but was not clean at all and the temperature was above 86ºF. I tried to manage the antique control in the wall but it took the whole day to cool down a little bit. No doubt this is one of the best locations in town, so we walked around the city and tried a few restaurants. At night we went for sushi at Hanami an small Japanese corner in the second floor. Even the waitress smiled and tried their best, she kept forgetting things, she provided 2 empty cans of soy sauce, deliver water without gas when asked for gas, nigiris came near the coffee and we where only 2 tables at the restaurant. No dessert were available so we had to ask for dessert from one of the other restaurants in the floor. Breakfast was not better in the morning, the bakery and fruit tasted and felt old, the waitress were invasive and ask robotic too many times if everything is ok. Anyway, coffee was good. Since we arrived, there was no chance to get an hour of massage, since there was no availability for days to come, it seems there is only one girl in town, for doing that. Water in the top floor pool was freezing, that is how I realized there was nobody swimming at all times.
This hotel is fantastic. Rooms are spacious, with a wonderful view of the ocean, and great facilities. The only problem is the language. Most staff here do not speak english and this makes life difficult for tourists.
Stayed 10 nights on business. The hotel/casino is located across the street from the ocean and each of the rooms have a great view. Some of the staff is bilingual. This is an older property in need of some TLC and capital investment. The room is very large with a king bed, flat screen TV, minibar, three very large closets, a huge bathroom with separate shower, tub and toilet area. However, the sofa in my room was stained, several lamps did not work and the in-room safe could not be reset. Also, due to "security/safety" concerns, irons and ironing boards are not available in the rooms, thus, you will need to pay to have your suits pressed. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and the buffet selection is good. However, I recommend eggs to order as the pre-made scrambled eggs are inedible. During my stay, I ate at least one meal in each of the restaurants (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and service was somewhat lacking in each of them. This is strange given that July is the low season (it's cold outside) and there were always plenty of empty tables available. There is a pool, gym and spa on the 8th floor. If you want to use the pool, you are required to wear a bathing cap. The hotel claims it is for hygiene reasons. I had a one hour massage during my stay. The price of the massage is well below US prices, however, you get what you pay for. The masseuse was either very new and inexperienced or had no formal training. Also, there was a large clock in the room that "ticked" so loudly that it drowned out the "spa" music and completely ruined the relaxation experience. Skip the massage... Overall, the hotel is well situated in Vina Del Mar only steps from restaurants, bars and parks.
My sister from Chile booked a room for me thru hotel.com . When we arrived and after check in I opened the door to my room , I thought they mistakenly gave me a better room than I paid for and I was afraid I would get charged crazy amount of money . It was no mistake , the room was mine and I loved it ! ( I paid about $150 for a night ) . I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel , it was a very luxurious stay .
*This review is based on wheelchair accessibility only, rating included* Handicap room N. 401 (partial sea view): the bathroom with roll-in shower is ok, except the towel rail in front of the sink, which is very inconvenient (see picture). From a 5* star hotel I would expect a shower chair - not a regular chair (see picture). The balcony is not accessible due to a high step. Breakfast room: part of the buffet can be reached only with 2 steps. Enjoy restaurant: it can be reached from the hotel and the casino only via a secondary path, closed to the public. Thus you will need to be escorted by the security staff. This path is still not completely accessible, because it includes 3 minor steps or 2 regular steps. Swimming pool: accessible via elevator. No pool lift available.
This was easily the best hotel we stayed in during our time in Chile. Right on the sea front we had a wonderful view from our balcony all along to coast to Valparaiso. Good staff on reception; very helpful with maps, directions etc and a great swimming pool and fitness centre on the top floor (worth going up just for the view). The hotel is close to shops, bars and restaurants so you are never short of somewhere to go in the evening. One strange occurrence stopped me giving this hotel an excellent rating - we were booked in on a bed and breakfast basis and on our final morning the manager of the restaurant asked that we tip the staff 10% of the notional cost of our breakfasts. In all my travels I have never had this happen before so I declined politely and left it at that. On checking out I was asked again, twice, by the receptionist if I would like the breakfast tip added to my bill. Strange indeed.
Besides being a lovely hotel attached to the original casino, The Enjoy hotel is right near the beach and easy walking to restaurants and sites. The view from each hotel room is wonderful. We enjoyed our stay there.
This is the worst service of any hotel I have stayed at on 6 continents and they "nickel and dime" you for everything. We spent over $500 for one room for 2 nights for our family of 4 (we have twin 5 year olds). They showed me a spacious room with a king bed and a sofa sleeper for our kids. However, when we called down to get sheets for the sofa sleeper ,they said there would be an extra charge of $60 per day for the sheets. When my husband vigorously complained ,they said as a courtesy they would waive the charge. There were only 2 towels in the room and 1 shampoo and even after tipping the maid $10 , there was still only 1 shampoo and not enough towels the next day .Although the bathroom is elegant and spacious the blow dryer didn't work. The 2nd day they supplied no bottled water and when we asked for some, they told us that they only provide water the first night ,and after that you have to buy water to brush your teeth. They have an inside pool with beautiful views on the 8th floor ,but everyone( even my son with very short hair ) had to PURCHASE a bathing cap. There was no coffee maker, no clock and not a lot of plugs to charge devices. The front desk supplied a very poor map of the area, which made navigating difficult. When we were leaving , we called for 20 minutes on 2 different numbers -front desk and operator to retrieve our car and get a bellboy ,but eventually we just lugged the luggage down ourselves. The "free" breakfast was good and Marcelo was very attentive - parking our car, taking our luggage to the room and giving restaurant recommendations ( a one man show) ,but otherwise the SERVICE was APPALLING for any hotel , but especially for one at this price.
A spetacular veranda facing the sea, impecable instalations, good breakfast, clean,, all toiletries and the thread to hang on small clothes articles to dry. Good restaurant and if you are a casino addict , you have just to climb down stairs
Everything about this hotel is outstanding. We have stayed at this hotel several times and have had a bad experience. Beautiful rooms with Ocean front views, plenty of space and very clean. Hotel's main entrance is not through the casino, which is smoke free inside any way. Looking forward to going back.
